Zion is definitely not going to finish at the rim in the nba like he does in college. Literally UCF was the first team duke played who wasn’t completely terrified to contest a shot of his at the rim and he drove into obvious blocks all day. Helps to get the duke whistle though that’s for sure.

I thought Aubrey Dawkins looked amazing. Is he getting any draft love?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

He definitely looked like an NBA prospect today. Smooth shot, fluid athlete, and decent length.

However, he is already 24 and will be 25 after his senior season. He likely goes undrafted. Would be a great guy to sign as an UDFA next summer. He could turn into a decent rotational 3&D guy.

Not much upside though. Ceiling would seem to be fifth best starter on a good team.

I love Jarret Culver. Would honestly pick him 2nd or 3rd.

Coach K had the good fortune to face up against a branch of the Coach K tree.

Assuming Houston and Oregon hold on, 15 of the 16 best teams are in.

NET (KenPom) knows what it’s doing. First year seeding that way and it’s clear.

I’d argue these are the top 16 teams. Oregon is playing like a fringe top 10 team for a month now.

Kinda throwing Oregon into the fire against Virginia but they’re legit.

They opened +6.5 against Virginia. I think I’d take Virginia with that line but they’re being capped on the Texas Tech/Purdue/Kentucky line right now.

He dropped the "it's just a more pure version of the game and they actually play defense" and I started to rebuttal with actual points about defense in the NBA being alot more difficult because of increased spacing and athleticism, and he just cut me off and said "agree to disagree". I tried to say that it's obvious we disagree and that's fine, but I wanted to give an example of what I meant, when he repeated "agree to disagree" with a smug look on his face and ended the conversation.

They don't play better defense. College players are just way worse at shot making.

I feel like people who say they prefer college are actually just rooting for the teams with an abundance of white players.

When's the last time you saw an NBA player cry after a loss? Game means so much more to these kids.

I’m a college watcher over NBA here. Here are the non “65 year old white dad” reasons.

-NBA players are too good.

-82 games where even division titles are worthless is way too long and useless/boring to me

-I enjoy NBA when I watch but to an extent it is almost Big 12 football right now. High scoring games in any sport are great. When the league turns into an all-scoring league due to rules (and smart coaching/management) it loses its luster. That classic Rams/Chiefs game this year was special because so many other games are 24-21 Final scores. 75% of NBA games are “Rams vs Chiefs shootout” now.

-I like college because a conference title, a rivalry, a conference tournament matters for most schools that may not be Duke or some foregone conclusion title team. Something to watch regular season. The regular season feels much less meaningful in NBA to me.

Plenty of that is hypocritical and specific to me. I don’t trash the NBA and once was a huge Bucks fan and still watch plenty NBA. I just like watching the closer competition and in-season goals/bragging in college instead of, “5 months leading up to the 4 teams we all know will be there in the end.”

Can’t believe Duke survived that one. Tragic for UCF.

I've heard and read ideas of a single game tournament in the NBA before, perhaps a mid season one during the all star break. I think that might be cool.

That last foul call on Fall was really rough. Zion barreled into him and I think his arms only came down because he got 270 into his chest. I'm still not sure what kind of player he's going to be, but Zion really made some big plays.

Yeah, the NBA honestly should stay almost exactly as it is. It's probably best to crown the "right" champion but I just can't get into the regular season anymore. That tournament would be cool but I wonder what the stakes would be?

A lot of other people would say that the tournament renders the NCAA regular season relatively useless as well. That's also fair but a matter of perspective. Again, I kinda like the rivalries/conference bragging rights/etc. and if you're a bubble team you are watching intently over the final few weeks. Getting into the tournament can be meaningful unlike an 8 seed in the NBA.

Wow. I like him too, but not that much. Could definitely see him in the 5-7 range though.

Of course I'd take Morant #1 and not think twice about it so.....
