Every single summer people complain and argue for 10 pages a thread about the $1million/year 15th man who will wear a suit all 82 games. Get over it dudes. It affects nothing. Growing up selling trinkets on the streets in Greece, I'm sure Giannis learnt quite a lot about mental fortitude and hard work from his older brother. I bet if there's one person in the world that helps keeps GIannis grounded and tough through the difficult times, it's Thanasis. This locker room is going to be closer than any other in the league by miles. Every other contender next season will be figuring out team chemistry and how to play together as the season moves along. We'll be figuring out how to improve on 60 wins and an ECF.

Hell give Veronica a VP title if it assures our guy is here to stay, I’m not trying to go back to basketball purgatory if Giannis leaves

I really can't imagine why any sane human being would be upset about the 15th guy on the roster. If it helps us keep Giannis, I'm fine with Thanasis holding that spot forever.

And everyone saying that he's not an NBA player haven't seen him play. He's decent defensively. I'm sure that working 1 on 1 with his brother every day will help him improve in other areas of his game as well.

Maybe a slight over reaction from some people in this thread? We had Pau sitting on the roster last year for really no reason. No big deal having Thanasis as a 13-15 spot man on the end of the roster. Not every player on the roster is going to be a championship caliber player.

While I somewhat agree, don’t say the ones on the end of the bench don’t ever matter. We had to rely a lot on Tim Frazier for a couple weeks last year. Had he not played as well as he did, with all the injuries we had in the backcourt, Bucks may have lost a couple extra games. With that said, this doesn’t upset me.

PP said it best “the 3 brothers can hold roster spots 13-15 if it means Giannis stays”.

Some crazy overreactions here

I have no idea why I still have Velazquez and Nehm followed on twitter. They actually know nothing about the team until it's reported by Shams or Woj. Might as well fix that now.

I see he won the "Most Spectacular Player" of the Greek League last year, but that is different than the MVP. Can anyone explain what the criteria for that award is? Is that for someone who makes exciting plays or something?

Absolutely. This organization's only hope is the continued relationship and improvements of one MVP player: Giannis. If he wants his brother here as a companion, and we want to play him garbage time junkyard dog minutes. Absolutely, unequivocally: Yes. Give him spot 14 or 15.

Nehm doesn’t report news. He just reports his opinion.

Read some old articles on Bud and Korver... He will likely be a Buck. Bud called him a friend for life... compared him to Tom Brady. As long as he doesn't prefer the Clippers or Lakers, he will likely be a catch and shoot sniper off the bench for us.

If all he does is pushes guys in practice, he’ll be doing his job. He’s on the team that had the highest point differential, so he’ll get some garbage time. No big deal.

From Giannis’ social media it looks like his brothers work out at the Bucks’ facilities pretty regularly, especially during the offseason, so I’m guessing most of the other players are familiar with them by now.

I'd rather the Bucks use the 15th roster spot and $3mil to satisfy the MVP than having to trade out entire future for PG13 or letting Giannis hand pick the GM/coach.

If he wasn't GA's Brother...would there be an issue? He is athletic and has been playing in Greece. If he can give us some energy moments periodically...its all good. He's not in the 9 man rotation.

Pretty sure he is still under contract with the Mavs. Cuban will likely hold on to him at all costs to try to lure Giannis... We might be better off letting his contract expire and signing him as a free agent. Cuban would try to take all our picks.

I agree though... It would be hard to leave a team that signed both of your brothers.

Our 15th guy last year was Christian wood and Pau gasol or Jason Smith. I'd rather use the 15th spot to keep giannis happy than someone who is garbage
