It's a great escape! It's definitely picked up from the first couple days, too. I played for 4 hours this morning.

I get at least 2 hours a day. I do my daily tree farm of apples, pears, oranges and then coconuts. I make sure to hit every rock, fossil and whatever else. I've upgraded everything at a decent rate. Amazing game to just play and forget what you're doing.

Both. I prefer docked for the larger view, but I've played out on the porch some.

Both, but I’ve been a bit more handheld as of late to let my girlfriend play it on the TV.

Bought 100 turnips today at 90 bells from a friend’s island. Part of me thinks I should’ve gone harder and went like 500+ to try and turn big profits, but testing the waters for now. Let the Stalk Market begin.

I bought 750 since I missed out on the first chance last week. :)

I don’t think there was one last week, but could be wrong. I ended up boosting up another 300 to a total of 400. We’ll see how that goes and adjust numbers from there.

Don't even really know what I'm supposed to be doing in Animal Crossing, this is my first AC game. I go around my island and collect all the stuff (fossils, clams, fruit, resources). Then I'll see if I can improve the look of my house. Most days I'll by a Nook Miles Ticket so that I can go to another island to explore and then I try and bring back as many items not native to my island to either sell or start to grow.

I haven't played Hearthstone in many years but I'm a bit addicted to playing the battlegrounds mode on the side while I work right now. It's kind of perfect for barely paying attention to.

I'm enjoying Tetris 99 and Door Kickers: Action Squad on my kids' Switch. Nothing too interesting. I'm mostly posting because I'm proud to have my avatar back. By the way, I hope they get Call of Duty on the switch. I've only played it on a Wii or a Wii U. I'm not sure how difficult it'd be to control with a Switch. I assume similar to Playstation or Xbox, But I haven't played either of those consoles.
I admit to being a terrible judge of talent and having minimal knowledge of the game of basketball.

I did not know this was a thing. Man, Nintendo can be so stupid.

Nintendo's online offering is just so confusing to me. It blows my mind that my girlfriend and I can't even play Super Smash Brothers online with our friends because the game forces you to own 4 Switches to make that possible. Same goes for even for the board games like Monopoly for example.

Overcooked and Mario Kart are the only games we play that we can actually play online with our friends.

I think you're pretty much doing what you're supposed to (though this is also my first AC game).

Beyond that, there's other stuff around the island...getting the museum, shops, other houses, etc. built. There's a lot of fun customization you can do with the Nintendo Online app too...I've now decorated my house with a bunch of my favorite album covers, a picture of my real dog, got myself a Cubs jersey to wear around the island, etc.

Thanks. And if I understand the Turnip thing correctly, somebody comes to the island every Sunday to sell turnips. You're then supposed to buy as many turnips as possible and then sell them on Monday and the prices can fluctuate?

Bought The Show. I'm keeping up with the Brewers schedule and simulating games if we are supposed to have a game that day/night. Yea, I'm a nerd. Took 2 of 3 from the Cubs to start the year.

Yep, I picked that up too. The fact that you can carry over your saves from prior years has to be my favorite feature in any sports game. I've been playing the same franchise since probably The Show 16 now. A part of me wants to start a new one now that the Cubs aren't just locked in with all of their foundation centerpieces anymore, but I don't think I can quit my Twins franchise at this point with the prospects I've been developing for so long now.

That's my understanding but I haven't seen the turnips person yet so I've missed out on that. I also wonder if you could buy turnips, and then plant them and grow your own? Not sure but that's what I did with the coconuts and pears I got from other islands/in the mail.

Turnips are only for buying/selling. The lady who sells them only shows up on Sundays before noon. If you don't sell them before the next Sunday comes they spoil and you lose your investment.
