Jrue, Midds, Brook all get traded.

I don't want to touch Bam or Herro. Screams 7th/8th seed. If we re-build let's actually re-build. 2021/2022 drafts are loaded.

Why would Phoenix give us that package for a 1-year rental of Giannis? He's not re-signing with them.

If Giannis says he's leaving next summer, absolutely I'm punting. The Holiday trade all but forced the Bucks to do so.

He's not going to say he's leaving next summer.

The motive to keep this quiet for this long makes no sense to me.

Unless Giannis is also working with FO to give his brother a 2-year/$20M extension.

If this was the reason for the holdup I would trade Giannis and Thanasis before giving Thanos 2/$20m.

He might...Booker, Paul, CP3 is championship quality. If winning is that important I could see it. I don't think it's that far-fetched.

We could wait decades....or it could easily be 3-5 years...you never know. It's a game of luck and timing. Whatever the case, If Giannis doesn't sign, I'm moving him for assets. Complete teardown and re-build.

We're a small market franchise receiving picks from a team we just dealt Giannis to. "Easily 3-5 years" is a pie in the sky and not remotely realistic. It IS a game of luck and timing. The odds that we'd be fortunate to have that luck strike twice as we've had with Giannis? Ridiculously low. I don't know why I need to say this, but this front office hasn't exactly demonstrated the aptitude for "easily 3-5 years."

Complete teardown and rebuild isn't a novel idea. It's happening regardless if Giannis leaves. I'm just not about to bail on a legitimate championship window after wholly knowing what a rarity those are in Milwaukee.

My general reaction vs. those saying, "WE MUST WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE!" instead of having the gall to say, "**** it, go for it."

theres all sorts of good players and decent pick packages we could get for giannis. its odd but im kind of looking forward to some reg season drama and just having good solid team for awhile. its not all about championships and getting all devastated if we dont win. its never been about that to me

I agree somewhat. We would need new FO, Giannis leaving would ensure that...hopefully. 3-5 years is optimistic, but It's the NBA, odds are stacked against us obviously, but you never know. Our window has been the last 2 years and we've blown it, I'm willing to go for it this year as well, but if team comes out sluggish and attitudes are bad, I'm trading Giannis. We're getting **** either way, I just want to get less ****.

We've literally blown our window so you can say "Soft", but I'd say you're just "Mentally Weak"

We know, but you are in the vast minority especially considering most of us have been watching horrible to mediocre teams for most of the past 30 years. The notion that it simply doesn't matter if Giannis goes is blatantly glossing over how devastating it would be if he left to this organization's chances of ever winning a title.

The goal of a professional sports team is to contend for championships. Not just put a somewhat competitive team on the court. There is absolutely no way to rationalize the future draft capital given up for Holiday if this FO didn't know 100% Giannis was staying.

Nobody on this forum save maybe you has any interest in watching 8-seed type teams with no chance at doing anything or any great young potential to follow. And that's what we are staring in the face with a Giannis departure.

i understand what youre saying in theory but if the evidence is 60+ win teams and a guy like giannis still leaving before his 27 birthday then its a false idol

i think its better just to understand the nature of the league and go for what utahs been. id love to be a fan of utah all these years. fun teams and fun seasons. winning a playoff series or winning it all doesnt change a single one of our lives the next day. its a false narrative to suggest otherwise and like so many have stated our league is much more like europe than we want to believe. accept the nature of it. the goal is not to win championships.... its to survive

If you're working under the assumption that you have Giannis signed (like it appears the FO was), we didn't really give that much up.

It seems like that might have been a pretty terrible assumption.

Nah, we haven't blown the window, because it's still very much open in 2020-2021. There's nothing "mentally weak" about recognizing that. NOT recognizing that is ignorance.

Giannis can move next to me. I have a wooded lot on the lake next to me. I'll give it to him for free but the one hour commute might get old lol

Nearly two decades of rooting for draft picks to pan out, and one finally did. If Giannis walks it's going to be hard to shift gears and reignite that optimism about the next generation's version of Yi Jianlian and Brandon Jennings.

That version is coming regardless of whether Giannis is dealt or leaves on his own accord. Best to be prepared for it. Obviously not great Bob, but it's a thing. If he's on the fence now, keep pushing chips and cross your fingers it changes by next offseason.
