And sorry, I misspoke and said 10-day contract when i should have said signed him to a non-guaranteed contract where he would have to be released in 40-days unless they wanted to keep him. Basically a 40-day contract with an option on 1/7.

No. Owners being cheap is not "pure speculation." I have for you a photo, a photo which makes that entire case. It is not speculation because it happened.

I guess I don't understand? The Bucks paid 1/3 million dollars to a foreign team to draft someone with a connection to Giannis, then cut him and then signed a veteran to take his spot? They could've just signed an UDFA and pocketed the difference, right? :dontknow:

And I said the Bucks being cheap is a thing, but so is DMC being an ass. Can't both be true?

Can't put this to rest until someone digs up the New Orleans airport security video to see if Boogie stepped off the plane wearing the watch.

In a no way hypocritical stance of being ok for the Bucks not committing to DMC due to defense and effort, I would love to reunite 12-34 to finish their destiny. Bring back Jabari as this year's Jennings as a redemption mascot. :D

I'm not sure if the owners were cheap or they were decently smart for delaying starting the clock on being in the tax. The longer you wait to start it, the longer you can ride it out during Giannis contract. That's not cheap, that is smart.

Now there may be many other examples of them being cheap, but I hope this isn't solely about the trade exemption we didn't get because using it would have likely started the tax clock (as I recall)

We officially started the clock last year, right? IIRC Jrue's bonus put us over by like a $100K? I wonder if there was serious ass chewing of our cap specialist that didn't properly speak up when we signed Teague or noting that Mamadi Diakite's contract could potentially cost us tens of millions?

We traded back for the last pick of the draft, explicitly to carry the cheapest player we possibly could on the roster. A guy who wasn't on anyone's radar, and who wouldn't have sniffed the league ever if not for us. A guy who was CHEAPER than an UDFA. As far as your last sentence, that's a walk back. I have evidence of the owners being cheap. You don't have evidence of Cousins being a problem in the locker room. One is not pure speculation, the other is. Therein lies the difference.

Alright, I'm completely committed to Jabari's return and will be devastated if it doesn't happen.

Maybe im being dense but how did that move save them money? If they were being cheap wouldn't they 1. Just leave the roster spot open since they already had the minimum amount of guys? 2. Draft someone who would've actually made the team instead of paying him (correct me if I'm wrong) $500k+$300k to his former team for only 2 months on the roster?

There was something fishy about that move but I don't know how it saved us money compared to other alternatives. And didn't we use the 2nd rounders for Allen? As for pick 31, Isaish Todd was by the Wizards signed to $1.5m using the MLE, which is cheaper than using that spot on Wes and then using that part of MLE on Semi. You can say it was dumb but not sure how they saved that much money. Keeping 31 +UDFA would've been cheaper than adding Grayson, Semi, and Wes.

You really going to act like Boogie doesn't have a history of causing issues?
ETA: As some posters have pointed out....who in the media would actually write an article on anything that has happened in the lockerroom? You think Kane Pitman is going to come out with a pod with actual evidence? There is no one covering the team without a conflict of interest, the connections with the players/agents, or the access (partly due to COVID) to report on this stuff. We will never have evidence if Boogie was cut for a reason unless the Bucks want to release it to serve their purposes.

just curious..... but if the owners were being cheap to let boogie go.... does that mean they were big spenders when they brought him in?

also... if boogie isnt on an active playoff roster this spring does that mean that all the teams are being cheap as well? or more to do with his ability?

so confusing

This is where I miss Gery. Somebody would have leaked something out to him, and he'd have reported it on the morning show on WSSP.

First things first, you HAVE to carry 14 players on a roster. Georgios made 14. You cannot leave that roster spot open. He was the cheapest possible player to fill that 14th spot based on salary scale. Yes, UDFA are more expensive. So I believe that covers your first two paragraphs.

The last one, again, one is speculation the other is not. There's a difference between a history of issues, ie. ones that happened 4-5 years ago, and currently having issues. That makes your conclusion speculation, and mine not. I have evidence of being cheap ACTIVELY happening this season. You do not currently have evidence of Cousins creating a locker room issue. Again, therein lies the difference between both instances being speculation. Here, one is clearly NOT speculation. It was a reality. You called both "pure speculation." Your ETA: clause as a reason why one has to be speculation, does not make it any less of a walk back.

As someone who generally had a let's see how Boogie would do on a good team or organization back when he was a legit monster player, I'm just happy if the Bucks get a ring he can call himself a champion.. He never really got that chance since he's basically been hurt since he got out of SAC, though I admit if I had to guess I'd guess he'd have failed. With all these guys out toss a 10 day to Ersan too so he can say the same thing.

That would make sense.....if Georgios was on our roster. He isn't. They paid $800k to have him come here for 2 months. THEN they signed a FA. If they were being cheap they would've 1. Drafted someone better and 2. Kept them the whole year. If it was about money, he would still be here, right? (ETA: and then they also would not have traded for Allen)

IDK why they drafted him but purposely drafting someone who as you said was on no ones radar, pay 1/3 million to get him out of a contract and then cut him only to sign a FA to fill the 14th spot does not make any sense to me? Is it fishy and stupid? Probably. But I don't get how the Georgios experience saved us money?

Gary Neal hasn't been around to leak anything to Gery for 6 years.

No. It STILL makes sense. You have to carry 14 players on a roster. You don't think their hand was forced by injury and Covid to look for solutions? Read the tea leaves. Even IF the plan was to eventually move on from Georgios from the start, they are STILL being cheap because pro-ration is a thing just like the luxury tax is.

If you pay 25% of the cheapest possible deal and then pay 75% of a league minimum, that is cheaper than paying 100% of a league minimum. This is basic math here man.

NONE of this changes the fact that the Bucks legitimately tried to get away with having the smallest salary slot possible on their roster for the 21-22 campaign. Again, that's not speculation. It happened no matter how much you try to skirt around that fact. Let me be plain, again, for the third time. ONE IS NOT PURE SPECULATION, THE OTHER IS. THAT IS THE POINT.

Hard pass on Jabari. He cannot play D to save his life. He'd be completely unplayable come playoff time. The Bucks are legit contenders. We should be building for the playoffs.
