The two largest (negative) outliers, they packed their bags.

Those are the starters. Not a single one of those guys was a bench player.

Braun was once again terrible in the playoffs. They should’ve shipped him off too. He shot worse from 3 than Russ.

The Nuggets bench unit was miserable.

With who?

With our motley crew of 6'4 role guys/3&D guards thinking we're gonna somehow money-ball our way to a great offense just because Giannis is awesome. That was pretty much the reasoning behind the Kuzma trade (beyond the financials) and look how that turned out. Trying to re-create production of great offensive players/scorers in the aggregate/through the bargain bin doesn't work in the NBA like it does in other sports. I'd be more optimistic with a better offensive mind at head coach, but obviously, we have Doc. This team is gonna have to lean entirely into a defensive identity because I'll be stunned if they're gonna win many track meet type games against playoff level opponents next season.

You make fair points, but I have more of a “we shall see” perspective on the matter. Thing is, good to great players started somewhere; and we have some intriguingly solid to perhaps good younger guys who’ve shown themselves capable of fulfilling roles around Giannis. We’ll need to see them perform consistently well and grow over a full season while taking on bigger roles which we did see some of down-the-stretch last season with Dame’s blood clot & eventual Achilles injury. It maybe wishful thinking, but I feel fairly good about rolling with a core of younger semi-unproven guys who’ve flashed some actual two-way court abilities. They may not be stars, but good teams need good players throughout and a team of two or even three scoring stars surrounded by a roster filled with weaknesses on one side of the court or the other won’t lead to a championship either. Point is, time (during the season) will tell how progression goes with this younger roster.

Another hidden benefit of that Khris trade and then the Dame waive and stretch is that we can now sign any buyout player regardless of what they made before being bought out. Teams above the first apron wont be able to sign anyone who made more than the full MLE.

i have a feeling this will come in handy for us

It'll also come in handy that in trades we can take back 25% more salary (to give another team apron relief) if we keep our powder dry.

Their bench was garbage largely because they had Russell Westbrook out there trying to play like it was 2013, and failing. Your argument is we should just trot out Westbrook for non Giannis minutes like that would help our team.

I mean let's just take a look at their team.

Here's every player to play over 300 minutes without Jokic, I'd say that's a pretty fair sample size of what their rotation looked like.

Westbrook was a god damn nuclear missile to that teams chance without Jokic.

With Kuzma rostered give me Brogdon. With Kuzma moved in a deal for the right wing, I’ll minimum Westbrook happily.

Portland accept Jrue’s awful contract (one of the five worst in the league) while receiving zero draft compensation. And Jrue doesn’t even want to play for them. They then traded out of picking the guy shooting up everyone’s draft board to instead take Yi Part 2.

They are a non-serious organization that is ripe for the picking.

Traded for Jrue.

You traded for Kuzma.

I don’t think I would trade Kuzma for Jrue right now when you consider contracts.

This off-season just keeps getting better and better. Honestly, it feels like Lily was never here. I mean Lillard. Couldn’t be more happier

If Khris gets a buyout or waived, could we get him immediately? I thought I recall someone saying it had to be a year after the trade?

Given other things constant, would you prefer to get Beal or Brogdon?

I would prefer Brogdon. I’m planting my flag there but will definitely change my mind if we sign Beal.

If Westbrook wants to come in and play the backup Giannis offensive role on this team I actually think it'd be the perfect fit.

For real, KPJ connected on more lobs to Giannis in 1/3 of a season than Dame did in his time here. I don't have the numbers right now, but I think I'm right.
