Seriously, Jordan look like a total mental midget (sorry for not being PC) here. First, he lets someone talk him into leaving LA for DAL. Then he lets other talk him into reversing his decision.

As funny as this all is, it's really pretty crappy.

ESPN should have cameras outside of DJ's house right now. That would be must watch TV if Cuban showed up.

Free Agency Thread -David West to Spurs for free

Post#3427 » by humanrefutation » Thu Jul 9, 2015 3:43 am

Two hilarious comments on the deadspin article covering this:

http://deadspin.com/report-deandre-jordan-will-probably-return-to-the-clip-1716663588

I’m at DeAndre’s house right now and except for the gun and eighteen sticks of dynamite Steve Ballmer’s holding this whole party is pretty chill.

In story with @ramonashelburne we also report Mavs now fear they won’t now get audience with Jordan as Clips have essentially surrounded him.

Sounds like another Cuban blockade.

It seems more like he all but entirely changed his mind and let Blake know that was the case, followed by Doc Rivers. With Cuban flying off the handle about the prospect of him reneging I'm not sure that I blame Jordan for not being audience to the Mavs' or Fegan's response until after he's signed off.

The point where DeAndre made his real mistake was taking to the pressure of other team's waiting on his decision and Fegan rushing him. When you're a premiere free agent you can dictate the market, rather than making any rash moves.

Haha, I was thinking that about Portland like a day ago.

And apparently the Mavs might chase RoLo now.

What would make a Knicks max offer now more attractive than a Knicks max offer a week ago?

It makes more sense to me that the centers who didn't manage to get max offers are the ones who are up the air, as they could potentially go back and get more money now. Also, we're now 30 minutes into actual signing time I believe.

Phil didn't offer him the max according to Wojnarowski. Either Falk or Woj's source was lying.

If Luis Scola signs with the Raptors but the board didn't crash did he really sign with the Raptors?

Well, I wouldn't recommend Isola as a source since he writes for a tabloid and doesn't care much about facts, but it's true there was a lot of confusion regarding that. The reality probably lies somewhere in the middle, like "we'd like to offer you a max contract, but only if we can't get Deandre." I say that because Lopez had a similar stipulation when he agreed to his contract.

Anyway, I don't believe that an agent would spread rumors that teams were offering contracts that were blatantly incorrect. That would make it more difficult for him to do business in the future, and doesn't really serve any purpose. It'd be one thing if it was used as leverage, but this came up after the fact.

Knicks and Lakers offered the max, at any type of deal Monroe wanted (# of years). Those teams just tried to save face after being embarrassed by being spurned for the Bucks.

The Knicks and Lakers had far more reason to lie than the agent did.
