This team is still multiple moves away from being a joke still. Resigning Jennings and starting Moute at 3 only keeps us where we don't want to be.

I wish this were true. However I think Sanders is the type of player that keeps this team from being a joke. Ersan makes this team a playoff contender. The Bucks will win 35 games again next year you can book it.

Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis and LRMAM/Marquis Daniels were one of the worst if not the worst starting 1-3 last year. Their is not a ton of downside by replacing them.

This team is not close to contending but they are far from being a laughing stock.

agree with your post, except for the bolded. they are a laughing stock. FA spurning them left and right.

How is winning 35 games not a joke? That's not even .500. U made it sound like in your post that because of Larry and Ersan we will be around a 35 win team and that is not a joke to you. I can't agree with that at all. I love Larry Sanders to, definitely has turned himself into quite the ball player but even he is still ways off from dominating both sides of the ball, if ever. We don't have any hope right now of having an elite 2-way player on the team at any position. That's the only thing that will get us over this hump we have been stuck in for years. You either have to be really good or really bad at some point or essentially ur not going anywhere. Being a scrappy team and called "competitive" because we have occasional upsets or lose close games to good teams a few times is getting super old to me. Ersan and Larry aren't enough to change my opinion on that. I love the direction of the frontcourt, don't get me wrong but the back court and SF until Giannis is ready is as atrocious as they come and can't be taken seriously until they produce consistently which isn't all that likely.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

Bucks get: Batum
Blazers get: Asik/2014 lottery protected 1st
Rockets get: Ilyasova

Sign Josh Smith and Jennings takes QO

Jennings(4.3)/Mayo(8)/Batum(10)/Smith(13)/Sanders(3) - That would challenge 4-6 range

Thaddeus Young possibly.

Not enough spacing.
I'd think Granger would be the only good fit available; whether he's worth it is another discussion.

Wes Johnson still out there? He could play the 3 for cheap and has some upside.

Not to single this post out, but I wish there was a way to separate the, "this makes no sense - we need to tank" posts and even the "if they want to win now this makes no sense" posts, from the ongoing talk of pieces being put together and then during the season analysis and talk of the actual games.

Sometimes a Paschke type appears and the need arises to reemphasize how stupid bucks management/ownership is. And of course the need arises when that management does stupid things (alot). But even for someone like myself who agrees with all that , and likes to be negative and sarcastic- ultimately I know its not going to happen, and the reason I'm a Bucks fan is because I like the games and the competition.

But I suppose the name of the site is real GM, not real FUN or real FAN, so I'm probably out of line anyway. I just find it personally monotonous and tiring at some point.

Nope I am with you on this.

Its super easy to criticize this team. And some posters do it every time they post. If it isn't a championship move, its hated profusely. Its either you're a contender or you're tanking. Yet...when the FTD stuff started happening and our outlook looked like we could be lets say a 50 win team with a little luck and many of these people changed their tune. We stood 0% chance of winning it all, but had a fun competitive team.

For me my goals are more realistic. I simply want a fun to watch competitive team. If I could get back to that consistent 50 win team I am pretty happy. Then you hope for some luck to move up a notch.

It is difficult to compete without dipping deep into the lotto and getting lucky, but it can be done. It may be impossible to compete for a title without a top draft prospect, or 2 or 3. But that isn't in our future. Not with Kohl. Besides competing for best tanker this year is going to be very very hard. Many will try and lose games only to be disappointed in the end.

By saying blazers get pick too, you are saying he's worth more than asik

Batun is to you what Derozan is too me, but I was offering Ersan for DD/1st. Your offering Ersan/1st

Trade would be ok without the pick. Ersan = Batun = Asik

If I had a chance for our core to be Batum/Henson/Sanders, I would give up our 2014 pick...Im not a huge fan of Batum, but he has talent and can do everything

Sounds like Derrick Williams is trying to lose weight to play more SF. Should the Bucks try to grab him and Ridnour?

my biggest problem is the overall bitterness. Don't like a player we are targeting? Say he's below average or that he has no basketball skills. This board excels at hyperbole

except not at all. Batum is a quality point forward and those are incredibly rare in the NBA. Like I said just a post above this board loves its hyperbole

If you want to tank, sure, pick up Wes Johnson. On second thought, even on a tanking team he would be infuriating to watch. He doesn't have upside.

And he is definitely NOT a player you want if you have aspirations of winning games. What good is a one-dimensional chucker with tunnel-vision if he can't even shoot?

Didn't we just draft our point forward, why trade ersan/1st for a 6 year older version.

And Batum shot 42% from the field at SF. Thats worse than our chuckers considering their positions.

3 players in a rotation for 2 positions is far from considered a logjam and that's all we have.

The roster looks like;

Ish Smith/Wolters
Mayo
Moute/Giannis
Ersan/Henson
Larry/Udoh/Ayon

The funny thing to me is take out Moute and I'm good with the roster, add Jennings and I'm disgusted by it. But realistically that is the group of pro players that call themselves Milwaukee Bucks.

I want to draft 1 of Wiggins Smart or Parker in the worst way possible. I'm not even selfish enough to just want Wiggins. I just want The Bucks to throw us fans a bone and not the bone we are used to taking from the FO.

Gotta upgrade the PG though. Howbout something like Ersan for a god PG then tank and maybe land a guy like Julius Randle

I didn't say we had to trade for him I was disputing the notion that he isn't very good or just another version of Martell Webster. Also his shooting fell off of a cliff when he injured his wrist which he played through the last third of the season.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
