I'm worried about Memphis... they look lost without coach and going nerd all-in seems troubling to that team and it makes me sad. I think they'll have to break it up and start their math team a different way.

Granted it was game 1 against the Spurs but Randolph has been bad the entire start and the team is missing punch.

Kevin Durant looks ready for an MVP season.

That Phoenix box score is a goddamn marvel to behold. Everything about it is just amazing.

That Eric Bledsoe line makes me ill.

Klay Thompson's line as well.

Hell, even Josh Smith had a good night last night.

The only bit of hope from last night is that the wheels on the Bucks may entirely fall off this year, even though Herb is doing his damnedest not to have it happen.

Upsetting to cruise the box scores and reminisce about the assets and market opportunities that we've wasted and blown the last 5 years.

I may need to take a self-imposed "Adamcz" timeout to keep my sanity.

Obviously Kohl is the problem, but Hammond has had SIX off-seasons to work and our best player on opening night 2013 was........wait for it.....

ZaZa Pachulia.

Wonder if Burks was ever available and/or what it'd have taken to get him.

Wilson Chandler should be a monster for them when he starts playing in a week. And Manimal will probably be starting too.

Javale SHOULD be a better defensive player. He is insanely athletic and long. But neither Faried nor Hickson is any help defensively.

Any team that was supposed to be down 3/5 starters due to injuries on opening day (Lawson was a scratch all week until right before game time) is problematic.

Burks, Bledsoe.....

Heck, no one has mentioned Evan Turner yet who had 26 points last night.

All guys we should have been targeting versus the veteran crap we did target.

Monta dominated last night. Damn. Teague played well, too. Depressing.

Am I the only one here who doesn't give a **** when other players do well? Hell, I'm probably more encouraged when Bledsoe or Turner or Harris or Have It All do well and their teams win. Because duh.

Monta did shoot much better than usual - that will change. He also dished out 7 TO's. One game does not an opinion make.

Frankly, I couldn't have been more pleased with all of last night's results. It validates what so many of us on this board already know: the organization we care most about, the Milwaukee Bucks, has the worst asset management/acquisition strategy in the entire league. The fact the company line asserts a veteran lineup of Neal, Butler, and Mayo is a good idea should speak volumes. Couple that with PP's poignant observation (any my observation in the game thread) that Zaza was our best player last nite and, actually, he may be our best player overall (!!!!)...and we know where we stand.

Oh, and I would love a vid sequence of the number of pokes Prigioni put on Butler. I swear he knocked the ball out of his hands in 3-4 straight trips. Veteran savvy!

Still have faith in Burks. Still don't believe we couldn't have somehow sweetened things to land Bledsoe either, who is miles better than Knight.

Wait. You guys think we could have traded for Burks and Bledsoe? Why on earth do you think that?

Bledsoe probably had no interest in signing an extension with us.

That's the most likely answer.

He would've been incredible for us though.

He's a RFA, so whether or not he wanted to doesn't really matter, unless he was going to take the QO, in which case we'd have him an extra year as a trade asset. I doubt he was angling to go to Phoenix at the time either. Looking at what Phoenix traded to get him, I will argue to the death with people who said we couldn't have realistically acquired him under different scenarios. He'd be a far more exciting young prospect to try and develop than Knight.

This is the correct answer. But still, if we had landed bledsoe and traded for burks we wouldn't have to worry about tanking this season. Bledsoe-Burks-Gbo-Henson-Sanders in 2 years is a contending core. That's what's upsetting.

They got a highly efficient role player on a great contract that they are now starting. What were we going to toss in to replace Dudley?

Its more than a little funny that the LAC found value in dumping Caron Butler and we later gave up assets for him but I don't see how we can sweeten the pot for Bledsoe as the LAC are definitively in WIN NOW mode.

Just realized Miles Plumlee put up 18 15 with 3 blocks. Nobody can tell me Henson wouldn't have put up a similar line if he had gotten 40 minutes of PT last night instead of giving 35 minutes to Zaza f*cking Pechulia
