I still have faith in Robin. He's getting used to playing a completely new system and style of play. If he's still playing this way coming January or February then I'd be for benching him but until then I'm ok being patient with him.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Brook will be more valuable during the regular season

But, Robin will be more valuable during the playoffs

I fully believe the regular season doesn't really matter for Robin. He's here for the playoffs.

Although, it is annoying to watch 8 dribble post ups or some of the curious decisions he makes on the court

Definitely an adjustment period, but, I'm far from worried.

DJ should be taking his spot some nights though to keep him fresh and see what he can add to the rotation

He's still got a 99.4 defrtg and is a positive on the floor.

his win shares are literally 0

he's also below 0 on value over replacement player

i have no doubt he will serve some purpose against a few plodders in the league....but unless he can start being the defensive anchor his brother is, he's beyond useless right now with his 15 minutes per game.

i'd rather see more center Ersan or center Giannis lineups than see Robin play at the 5 against 90% of the teams in the league.

104/99.4

stats.nba.com uses points scored by the team/against the team while the player is on the floor. Basketball reference uses Dean Oliver's original formulas that include things like assists, FGM, and team ORB for OffRTG, and steals/blocks to calculate stops and stop% for DEFRTG.

When you say he's a positive on the floor, though... he's sharing time with some good players. Relative to the average player in our rotation, he's not a positive. But what does that make Ersan

(What that makes Ersan is Giannis' sub)

Strongly believe we should be playing the Lopez bros together and Ersan should get more minutes with Giannis.

I agree with this.

Also I think we're not really using Robin at what he's good at, because it doesn't fit as much as Brook with our 5 out offense.

He's good at setting off ball screens, at hitting some post and closer mid range stuff, and at various high post hand offs and whatnot. We're not doing much of that with him on the floor because we don't do much of that in general, so you really only see him be effective when we run those sets out of horns that we do sometimes or when he catches the ball near the basket.

We also have him shooting 3s, which hasn't worked out too well yet. He's just not as effective as Brook right now at hanging out 30 feet from the basket "spacing" the floor.

With what we've been asking him to do, we're better off going with the smaller lineups we did last season, or playing DJ and Bender.

The Ersan/Giannis 2 man lineup is at 104.3/118.4 so far this season in 40 minutes. Not looking good so far.

Earlier in his career, Robin went through a phase where he didn't focus and didn't work hard. Almost feel out of the league. He wasn't mature and didn't listen.

Feels to me like he's been having a bit too much fun here with his brother. Needs a kick in the ass. And equally important, Bud needs to stop using him as a three ball spacer. Frankly, it might help Giannis if Bud could try a standard offensive set, with Rolo as high post center, like Stotts used in Portland.

Robin’s one of those guys who looks like he’s trying hard even when he’s not really doing anything. Think he’s lost a step from even last year and bigs with his offensive skillset/limitations has never once flourished under Bud. Wonder if/when Bender’d move ahead of him if things weren’t muddled with his recent signing/veteran status/being Brook’s brother.

This roster has Championship potential, EXPERIMENT WITH EVERYTHING NOW, use funky line ups, use guys in weird ways, do it all now so come crunch time, we know what we have. Frankly, I am not worried about regular season any longer, this team should be able to coast to a 55-58 win season with a healthy Giannis. So use Robin in all sorts of ways that take him out of his comfort zone and see what works.

This has been a monumental disaster of a signing.

Other players signed with Room MLE:

Frank Kaminsky
JaMychal Green
Avery Bradley
Richaun Holmes
Justin Holiday
Enes Kanter
Garrett Temple
Ed Davis
Mike Scott

It was a fun idea, but more of a novelty than anything. Should have just brought Frank home.
