Very similar. I can't believe we added 22 year old All-Star Brandon Ingram to the deal.

I forgot one of the Lakers picks in that deal was #4 in the draft too. #4 is only one number away from #24. Very similar.

Fotis is just upset because he secretly wanted Giannis to sign somewhere else.

I'm framing this as we traded 3 firsts and two swaps for holiday and 5 seasons of Giannis.

I'll take that trade any day.

Happy with this because of the implication that Giannis is signing.

This from an outsider. Great moves and I congratulate you. Any supposed Bucks fan who isn't dancing in the streets over this one should go and cheer for the Pelicans.

A couple of things to remember:

a) it's very easy for those kind of deals to fail and before you know it everyone's taken and you're stuck with exactly the same team as before. We were active in the market and we got better, and that's already more than most teams can say.

b) We know now the owners are willing to pay.

c) Giannis will sign.

That's A LOT of great news.

Big price, but realistically, if Giannis stays those 2 picks are nearly 2nd rounders and if he leaves, we're f***ed for the next 5 years anyways. I doubt the pick swaps matter much either, depending on the protection.

Once CP3 was gone, I was out on this season but getting Holiday with Bogdan was a tremendous pickup.
It solved our biggest issue which was bball IQ & more dynamics in the backcourt.

We still need more size & length on the wings plus more athleticism at the big man spot.

yeah fk the picks
as if I want to watch some teenager taking 3 years to learn how to box out because he only played 3 months in college and his high school team wanted him to take 100 shots a game.

Didn't think I'd be able to get through the offseason happy with Paul off the board but damn, this is a damn sexy team 1-4.

Jrue has played a total of 30 playoff games. Dude is going to be so happy here.

I'm fine with this trade because:

- If this makes Giannis re-sign, it's a good deal
- If Giannis leaves, I'll stop following the Bucks anyway, so the lack of draft picks forever isn't my problem

Such a risky trade with the picks, as others have said this move is going to look genius/insane based on Giannis resigning. I don't mind losing Bledsoe (i was a defender) and Hill but if Giannis walks and the Bucks have zero picks for the next 6 years its going to hurt even more.

I think I still like the move just because we may not have another shot for a title/superstar for a long time, mortgage the future now and go for it is the right move imo.

Ainge always seems to have a stock pile of late picks that amount to nothing but never pulls the trigger to trade them.
