Have come to the conclusion that I really don't like the top of this draft. Not that I don't like any of the players at the top of the draft, but that they're all going to be overdrafted relative to their quality as prospects.

I think we'll see multiple all-stars but it wouldn't surprised me if they're all picked outside the top 5. I like Holmgren a lot and have him as the clear #1 in this draft, but he's not the no-doubter guy you want when you're picking there. Jabari Smith is a good two way prospect who I don't think we'll ever see carry an offense or anchor a defense. I'm way lower than Banchero than most. I'd probably take Ivey 2, but he's got some significant holes. Murray's a nice player but will not be able to play the same way in the pros that made him a dominant collegian, and he's 22 before the season starts. Duren has the best physical tools in the draft but he vanishes. Value in this draft is late lotto imo.

Hey Mr Hollywood, if you guys are going to reboot every movie and sitcom from ten years ago, I can reboot a classic realgm joke from that era as well.

Understood. Just know that some of us are trying to change that!

Draft is pretty deep in swing forward role player types. I'll give Keve Aluma and Fabian White as examples of guys who I could see developing into winning role players but who I never see in any mocks.

FWIW, Givony reporting that the other teams believe it’s a lock that Jabari goes #1 and Chet #2.

That's interesting. Holmgren is kind of a more refined version of Pokusevski.

Smith has been my clear #1 for a while. He's already a better distance shooter and athlete than Chet, and I'm just not a believer in Chet being able to put on enough lean weight. To me it's similar to the 2020 draft with Anthony Edwards. I'll take the guy I have faith will do 2-3 things at an elite level in the pros, over the guy who theoretically can do a bit of everything.

Not really invested in this year's draft but how unique is Chet's skillset really if there is Victor Wembanyama lurking in next year's draft who basically is a better version?

Just because two such players exist doesn’t mean they aren’t unique.

Well, Wembanyama is ridiculous. I don't think either guy gets their value from being unique, per se, but agreed that Wembanyama is like a very rich man's version of Holmgren.

OKC should trade up and double down with Chet Ubetcha. Must has all the unicorns

Props to everyone who's been on Jalen Williams. I didn't watch any Santa Clara during the year but have now and he's absolutely legit. Kind of blown away by him and how he runs the pick and roll, and his frame is nuts. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up a lot more explosive than he is now. Gotta watch out for these late bloomers, man.

Yeah if he falls to 24, I’ll be pretty surprised. Feel like there’s too many ways for him to succeed to be a late 1st. I totally get the lottery buzz.

I know trade downs aren’t really a thing in the nba draft but I think I’d be talking to OKC and Orlando. Both have two picks in the thirties and given that the Bucks young talent tank is completely on empty, multiple swings is probably a better bet than one guy at #24.

Had no idea he was in this draft. Be interesting seeing him go up against Malik Beasley who ****** his mom.

After my initial research of prospects potentially available at 24, Jalen Williams stood out the most as people on here already mentioned. Unfortunately it looks like he is rising up draft boards making that pick unlikely.

Not sure if he's been mentioned yet but I also really like Ryan Rollins? I like his size as a guard, only 19, can score at all 3 levels with his mid range game standing out the most. Only concerns to me are athleticism, he's not the athlete Jalen Williams is, and defensively his team ran a zone so I have no idea what his on ball defense is like. Otherwise very solid option late in the 1st.

Also don't have enough tape on this guy to point out his weaknesses but Gabriele Procida really stands out. His shooting and athleticism will translate well to the NBA. Some of the plays that kid makes are impressive.

The trick is signing 2nd rounders. We'd either have to use the TMLE to sign them, or only sign them to a 2 year deal, which is a real problem if you hit on one.

1 rounders can be signed freely without using an exception.
