I'd rather take someone who has a minuscule shot at being great but likely never will than someone who is solid enough to make the team just to get cut/traded next season.

Put another way: swing for the fences, dude. Don't pass on Jokic for Johnny O.

Not too many players excite me at 58, however, Seth Lundy is probably my favorite. He’s got good size and his shot making ability is an elite skill that’ll translate to the pros. He’s a guaranteed steal at the end of the draft. Dude can flat out ball.

FWIW Jokic had the low ceiling flag

Was brogdon kind of low ceiling for a second rounder? Older guy without elite athleticism. Idk I almost rather have the low ceiling guy who has a better chance of being a 7th man

Most of the low ceiling / high ceiling stuff is based on a popular misunderstanding of which traits are required for a great basketball player post-MJ.

Brogdon, low ceiling high floor, Brown, high ceiling low floor, White somewhere in between…

Still pretty incredible value for where he was picked. Kind of the way I feel about Mensah. He will probably go undrafted because he’s 25 but he could also step in and start for most teams in the nba and be able to run whatever defense you want. Is his offense going to evolve much? Probably not but he can hit a jumper better than any guys that are strictly D. Although I wouldn’t be mad at taking Gortman hoping he is the next Dennis Schroder

I understand taking the solid, make-the-team guy. That's kinda what we do. But since it's not my money, just give me the flawed guy who, if he can figure out that one thing, could end up being an all-star.

The thing is the guys I'm talking about taking a chance on tend to go in the first round. Marcus Haislip comes to mind. Thon. And Joe Alexander. I could see MarJon joining that list, too.

Vukcevic is probably the guy I think has the highest upside of all the realistic 2nd round dudes. I think he's more than just a floor-spacer, but even if that's all he is, still pretty great value where you're picking him. Needs to really improve his hands (he's got a little Thon in him) and learn how to leverage his size better on the boards.

Undersized and about to turn 21, but pretty nice highlight package there and in the very least, his scoring numbers are pretty impressive. Looks like he was around 17 PPG this season on 60% TS%. His 2PT% has been good every year, FT% is pretty good every year, and 3PT% is alright (especially on what seems to be a decent amount of pull-ups based on the highlights).

Interesting read for sure. I wouldn't say I agree with all the player evaluations, but he does a nice job laying the logic of the big board out there and makes a lot of good points. And I think he's targeting a lot of guys that I think are being slept on a bit (Cason Wallace, Gradey Dick, and Jaime Jaquez in particular).

I don't know how you measure it, but if a prospect has either bad hands or bad balance I want no part of them regardless of any other athletic attributes.

Gradey Dick feels like the Cam Johnson of this draft class. Guy that usually goes in the mid-late 1st based on his skill/physical profile but ends up going much higher because shooting + big-wing size is more essential than ever in the current league. Yet I'd still pick him there and be fine with it cuz I think he'll be a really productive NBA starter for a good decade. If you could find a way to flip Bobby for a late lotto pick and salary filler, he'd be the guy I'd most want next to Giannis.

Every other inebriated fan is gonna call him "Gray Dick", I would draft him purely based on that fact

Bobi Klintman withdrawing from the draft to pursue other professional opportunities since he missed the college deadline
