I just want to be left alone by talking about it all the time. I also don't find the honesty refreshing unless again this is all a ruse to increase the value of our picks. Talking about this does not help the team in any way.

Most of these players are the same guys that stepped up and won two games over Atlanta while he was hurt and then won the only game against Miami last year in the playoffs without him. They also have held the fort down while he rests during the regular season.
It's really disrespectful to those guys and has managed to put our first year head coach that he picked under enormous pressure already in September. What happens if we lose 3 games in a row.

This entire thing is hypocritical considering he has consistently dragged other guys who did the same thing he is talking about. Also the whole quote after the Miami series about the season not being a failure...WTF does that mean now? So congrats on putting enormous pressure on his teammates, organization and coach by putting this out there in this fashion. Maybe my expectations are too high.

<Uncle Baby Billy voice> C'mon now.

Outside of postgame hits, Giannis rarely says much. When he does get more expansive, it's worth hearing. His annual pre-season sitdown with Marques is unfailingly illuminating.

A large part of why Giannis doesn't get the attention his stature would indicate is precisely because he goes out of his way to not court it.

a year after choking in the playoffs and putting up a season with....

-career high usage
-career low steals/100
-career low blocks/100
-career high turnovers/100
-the second worst ft% of his career on the highest ft rate of his career
-the worst ts% of the Bud era
-the worst +/- Drtg of his 7 all star years
-the worst VORP of his 7 all star years
-the worst WS/48 of his 7 all star years
-the worst BPM of the Bud era
-the worst DBPM of the Bud era

....I say STFU and fix your own **** before you call out the franchise reminding them of how much a winner you are

That would certainly be the best for the fan base.

But I must admit, I don't understand getting so wound up about something out of one's control.

34/15/7 is choking. Incredibly insane take.

I don't think anyone is wound up. It's amplified because there is literally nothing else to talk about until camp starts next month. But yeah I'm sick of hearing about it, from him and the media. The media won't stop but he can.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Seems like he’s saying a whole lot of nothing to me. Can’t wait for real basketball to start.

If Giannis re-signs and wins more championships here in Milwaukee I know I'll certainly remember these embarrassing posts. I probably won't be able to think of anything else. Gonna be distraught, tbh.

Yep, after Nets game 2.

GHOSTofSIKMA wrote:for now, but perhaps not much longer..... he is worth far more for his trade value than he is for his championship getting value. his annual cost is monstrous and a total ball and chain.

im first in line to say trade him. dont wait like the pistons did with drummond trying to figure out how to win with a stat line and nothing more.

we wont ever trade him tho... not unless he demands out. that would be the best case scenario and the sooner the better. we have lots of talent on this team all in their prime. 50 million in flexibility with a cache of fresh picks and assets would renew my hope

Literally win a championship that year on his back in the finals

And comparing Giannis to freaking Drummond, my god.

i criticize all the players from time to time and certainly if we had not won that series the players themselves have talked about how the team would have been broken up. we would have all had opinions on what needed to move just as we do now perhaps.

so guilty as charged! and definitely you can routinely expect it in the future. its the nature of sports and the nature of real gms especially to consider these things.

if we wait to trade giannis and he walks for nothing or we get andre drummond'd by him it will kill the franchise. he just had a season where literally everything except ppgz fell off a cliff. he needs to rededicate himself to winning basketball. last year wasnt what we need from him to win

I just don't understand getting so wound up about anything an athlete does/says off the court/field/diamond.

Just imagining a conversation with my youngest son...

Me: "yeah Giannis willed the Bucks to the only championship of my life time, was one of the most dominant players in NBA history, has one of the greatest life stories of all time, and gave millions of dollars to various charities."

Son: "what made you turn on him, papa?"

Me, fuming, balling a fist: "turns out he wasn't perfect, said something on a podcast"
