I feel in recent years with Madden I’ve resorted to sliders (often from various users on Operation Sports) to often and been less happy with the games. I opted this year to play default and treat it more as a game than a sim, as there’s just no way for it to ever be a sim as we truly would like. I’m personally having a blast with CFB, though I am at a point I feel I may lower interceptions for both user/cpu. Overall I really enjoy the game, perfect no but it’s fun and has held my interest far longer than any football title in the last 5+ years. What I like most expecially at higher difficulties is the CPU will really take advantage of you if you just do stupid things, adjusting your blocking presnap, shell coverages etc they help a ton but can also cost you, it’s a fun cat and mouse game.
Coverages at time get a bit weird though, the game is very offensive based but that’s college in a nutshell. Still frustrating though when a corner or safety can be right near a guy or ball and just kind of ignore it but then will come back and make one the most insane breaks ever.
CFB had me really excited for madden, expecially based on what I experienced in the beta for madden. The launch of madden isnt what we played during beta though. I have no clue at all what happened to zone defense, guys just drop and kind of let everything happen in front of them rather than guarding anybody who enters their zone. Really hope it can be fixed in the first title update because thus far I’ve had a blast with football games this year even if not perfect. It’s been a fun experience with CFB.
I’ve probably played more CFB than I have any madden combined in the last 5 years. Sports titles in general, primarily all I ever played growing up just have not captured my attention in the last decade or more. It’s also been fun to share/play CFB with my 2 boys, who did not experience NCAA 14 back in the day but had been playing CFB Revamped waiting for a college title to release.
