I know Dyson's the gold standard, but two of them have gone to **** on me and I wasn't overly impressed to begin with. I bought a regular ass vacuum with a cord from Costco last year for a third of the price and it's been great. But I figured since I'm not living in a place with carpets anymore I might as well take advantage. Given Costco's return policy I might be able to pick one up cheap.

Most Dyson's get poor ratings from CR. Once in awhile one will receive a decent rating but never a recommendation due to price.
