This kid will be a top 10 player for sure if he keeps away from injuries.
When I'm thinking he only started playing ball at the age of 16 this is crazy.
He will develop a good jumper with work but his shooting will never be great and that because he never learned the fundamentals as a kid. If now is scary what he will become imagine if he picked up basketball as a kid.
Nevertheless he is a living proof how much they work in europe (greece) with tactics ,passing , court awareness . No one at his age sees the floor so well and thats not only talent ...

31 blocks!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Pistons fan here.. Definitely extremely jealous of Giannis. Imagining your team with Drummond instead of Monroe is frightening.

Much appreciated. Between Giannis, Parker and Middleton, (much appreciated once again), the future definitely looks as bright for us as any other young team in the league.

His poise is awesome right now. As is the 7 foot fend off when little guys try to steal the ball off him. :) Just think how many more assists he'd have if he played all his minutes with a C who could screen and roll.

How often do we se numbers like the ones Giannis had yesterday (without taking steals in account ,and with <= 2 TOs !!) ?

Also Giannis is currently 6th in dunks (and Jabari 8th) : http://bkref.com/tiny/3j2Do

I guess that's one of the reasons we have the antidote to small ball: we dunk on them. Lots.

Really can't believe some of the **** he does on the court. Now consistent production has followed. Not saying a ton here but definitely the highest ceiling Buck that has played a game in Milwaukee in my lifetime. I'd be surprised if he's not pushing top 5 status next year.

Pretty cool Jabari is 8th considering he was also on a minute restriction for a couple months. Otherwise he'd be even higher.

Can somebody find the assist/turnover ratio and FG% of Westbrook in last seasons crazy February in order to make a comparison with PGiannis?

I know he've done it for a whole month but if it's like 10/6 with a near 40% TS it's not that impressive. I bet his usage was huge too with Durant injured.

10.3 assists to 4.2 turnovers, he averaged 31.3 ppg.

His TS%: 31.3/2*(22.3+(.44*10.5))

31.3/53.84 = 58% TS%.

At work right now so I can't dig into it, but I'm curious to see how many players have multiple player of the week awards. I'm sure there are plenty of scrubs but I bet the vast majority of guys with 2+ are perennial all-stars considering there is only 44 winners a year and most are won by curry and James type players.

I am excited about Giannis  , but we all shouldt be overexcited, because no matter if he is the only one (or part of a small group) to average some super and promising stats, it is still no guarantee for his development. It's just a good sign and nothing more.

The same goes for Giannis. It's good for his confidence, but hopefully he won't turn into a stats hunter. Some careless passes behind his back hopefully make him realize that he still has a long road to cross.

Although I don't worry too much; both our prodigies seem to be very mature for their age.
No hay banda.

A very interesting read (in english) of how things started. When Giannis was 13 wondering around the streets of Athens:

OT - PS: From the same page, 100% not related to Basket, I also recommend this : http://neoskosmos.com/news/en/Greek-Feta-Cheese-Triangles-Recipe-tyropitakia
