For his many faults the guy delivered Giannis, Khris, Thon and Jabari. Lets hope Zanik can finish the job. GL in Orlando Hambone, I think you're going to need it in spades.

Is it reasonable to assume that every team has analytics department at this point? The likelihood that they're all saying the same thing is probably high.

The differentiating factor seems to be having a 'Jerry West' that can see which players are best and that can conceptualize which grouping of players will win.

As far as advanced analytics goes, I'm sure every team has some sort in practice, but you have a staggering range....

Teams like the Rockets and Warriors know exactly what they want to do and use the #'s to build the team and coach them to the maximum efficiency.

Then you have teams like the Bulls who I'm sure have an analytics department, but GarPax either has no idea how to use it or just ignore it completely.

I have faith in Zanik with his pedigree, but I was specifically looking for quotes or instances where he's talked about the shift toward analyitcs in the past 10 years.

He and I share a degree in Economics and have a 5 year age difference, so just basing it off myself, I would say that 10-15 years ago he was blown away by advanced analytics, but now it's not as interesting. :D

You're our new GM and President of Basketball Operations

You call all the shots

Unless that shot is to fire Jason Kid...cuz that's not gonna happen

The owners backing Kidd is the most troubling part of all of this. He likely has a lifetime pass to reign supreme here in Milwaukee. He is our Mark Jackson except our Mark Jackson will never be fired.

He delivered Jabari by assembling an awful roster in hopes of making the 8th seed. Incredible job by him.

Delivered Giannis by not trading the pick for Josh Smith. Another incredible job.

I know they're extremely wealthy, but they're ultimately going to do what's in the best interest for them to make more money. If it comes to firing Kidd, they absolutely will.

Thanks John.

As always with the Bucks, here's to hoping the next bit isn't as mediocre.

He should've left long ago because he's incompetent.

Good riddance.

Death, taxes, and Bucks ownership who thinks they know basketball better than professionals.

I'm feeling a little unsettled about this team. Not because I wanted Hammond to stay around, but because the same questions about who and how we make decisions remain...

This team still needs a lot of things to go right to even become a perennial 50+ win team...

Personally I think things only go great when filthy rich people are in charge and at no time in history has this been proven false.

Problem is that they have what could be the best basketball player in the league on the team and if Kidd is not helping this team on the court or behind the scenes he needs to go now.

Whatever, it's going to be Kidd this season. If I hear and see the same dysfunction as the past three seasons without a change after it then at least I will know that this is Kohl era v2.0 and can temper my enthusiasm to zero.

Maybe Zanik makes a move for his guy Dante Exum.
