I did not realize how terrible the Big East is so far this year. The first NET rankings are out, Marquette is #7 overall, the next Big East team is ranked #39. If these rankings hold Marquette would only play 4 Quad 1 games in conference

#5 Marquette goes to #6 Iowa State tomorrow night and it's only on ESPN+ . Saturday's game against the Badgers should be fun. That's on Fox.

Good for Shaka to get the Wisconsin monkey off his back. The Big East looks pretty weak this year so this could be a big W come March for Marquette

I didn't know Tom Crean did college TV. Kind of weird seeing/hearing him on a Marquette game.

Was at MU during this timeframe and was a fun era. Always was a little bitter towards him after he left, but I get it. As time passes, look back fondly of his MU tenure. He did revive a program that seemed to be getting stale in the late 90s.

I’m curious if he ever coaches again. He’ll only be 59 here next month, but the Georgia run was mostly forgettable outside of snagging Anthony Edwards. However I think they were projecting to miss the NCAA Tourney that year too. I’m sure he could get a mid major gig easily, but unsure if a Power 5 school will call. Also talking 20+ years ago from the Final Four run and almost 10 from last time was in the tourney at all. Time flies, damn.

Marquette has been scuffling but nice win down 14 against a good Xavier team, with DWade in the house.

Awesome win. Struggled down the stretch of the regular season for sure, but any time youve got a guard as good as Kam Jones in a tournament game you've got a chance.

I didn't realize quite how far they've fallen. In his afternoon update today Lunardi has Marquette as an 8 seed even after beating Xavier

I think an 8 is about right for this team this year.

Obviously this team isn't as good as last year's sweet 16 team but they peaked weeks ago.
