Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
Thon could have been great if he had hands and his core wasn't made out of a large spring

Thon could have been great if he knew how to play and didn't fight in WW2.

I wish there was a way to find all of my Thon jokes on here. I had some bangers, man.

No. He wouldn't. Because he was (and is) a terrible basketball player.
We don't need a super talented basketball player buckboy ... we need a mobile big who can defend, run, set some picks, hit a 3 occasionally and make some FTs. Our core has enough scoring talent to win a ring, we miss the filling parts
Pretty sure Thon's available as long as the NBA doesn't overlap with dressage season.

Such a good comment.

I just rewatched the Australia-Philippines brawl and gotta give a BIG shout-out to the juxtaposition between what a deadly serious situation that was and the surreality of Thon galloping around like he got spooked by a big truck.

I'm close to convincing myself that Hunter Sallis is a guy I want at #23 and not just #33.

There’s gonna be questions there until he proves himself in the league. Leaving Zaga after 2yrs of not being able to earn more than 16mpg and then lighting up the ACC as a junior on a mediocre team seems like something might be going on there.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
I've soured some on Ware after hearing him and processing his game. I did only see him once, & may have caught him on a great day/match-up. The tools might well not add up because of being spindly & not overly aggressive or aware. I've been burned on that mold before. I'd still put him in a hodgepodge of bigs in the 2nd round I'd consider, but not the 1st.
As of right now, I'm really hoping Tristan Da Silva falls. If not, I think Djurisic is the fallback option. He's someone I'm going in the other direction of thinking he could well be a diamond in the rough w/ his on ball dynamism. Strategically, if a collegiate class is weaker, you want to lean foreign. Though I think the college group has some depth, & @ 23 we'd about be in that range.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
If they keep the pick there's about a zero percent chance it's a project dude or someone under the age of 20. Don't get me wrong, I love guys like Carrington and Chomche, but it ain't happening. I'd bet anything it's between one of the following guys:
Ryan Dunn
Dillon Jones
Jaylon Tyson
Kevin McCullar
Tristan Da Silva
Terrence Shannon
Hunter Sallis
And of course, my absolute worst fears....Edey or Kolek (bleh).

I think you can add Daron Holmes to your list. He seems like a reasonable pick around 23 that fits your qualifications.

Just looking at Tyson. Any idea on the length with him? Seems like a better version of Pat C in the highlight I watched. And I mean the Pat C that was asked to be a ball handler this year and doesn’t have the same explosion any longer. I wouldn’t be too upset with that at 23

I don't know how likely Tyson is to bust, but if he hits, serious Caleb Martin vibes there. Hopefully he wouldn't then take until his age-26 season to hit though.

He's listed at 6'6.75" with a 6'8" wingspan.

Ok I didn’t see anything on the site I was using. Wish he was longer if we were using a first on him

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
I could care less about wingspan with guards and most perimeter players. It's just not important unless you're banking on him being a guy who can play small-ball 4/5.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
You can't spell wingspan without wings.
