Go Kobe.

Mr. Gasol and Mr. Odom, this is your game if you want the trophy tonight.

Kareem > Shaq > Magic/Kobe/Chamberlin

I don't care what Jerry West says.

How many times did you see Kareem play?

He's been retired 20 years now, and I'm only 32 so I was never lucky enough to see him in the NBA. I've only seen him once in an exhibition game, but it doesn't really count. That's why I don't rank him against players I have seen.

I've seen about 40 playoff games or so on Classic, some old taped games my dad had (Kareem was his favorite player when he was big into basketball), several college games.

I've seen enough of him to know that he was the most unstoppable offensive player to ever play the game... He was even better with the Bucks than he was with the Lakers, IMO.

I guess I've seen a lot of his games on tv, it's just they pretty much only show the classic games, so it's hard to get a solid opinion on him. I really meant watching him play in person - although I guess at the end of the day there isn't a great difference.

Current day players you see everything - the good and the bad, so it's a lot easier to evaluate them.

Jerry only said Kobe had a higher skill level though, which is a given when comparing someone from the 70's with a fundamentally sound player from the current era.

Well I would never say a big man is as skilled as a guard. Ramon Sessions probably has more basketball 'skills' than Shaq, but he will never be the player that Shaq was.

I guess I confused what he said.

Regardless, I'm not trying to rip or put Kobe down. I think he's a top 5 player in the league right now, the second best 2-guard to ever play and one of the best Lakers to ever put on a uniform... I just think that there are a lot of guys (By that I mean like 20-25 at most) that have played that are better than him.

Why was that a foul on Lewis? Looks like he just had his arms up...

Yup, there isn't much Ariza can't do. He's about 6-8-6-9 with fairly good athleticism, he can defend and this year he has shown that he can hit the 3. Ariza should be getting a decent payrise this year.

Congratulations Lakers. It's only the end of the third quarter but shooting 7-11 on threes to the home team's 2-16 will win you some road games. Magic are just a bit underdone and probably should have left Nelson on the injured list. Will be better next year if they keep Turk and are healthy for the finals.
Luckily, for the revenue department of the government, speed doesn't kill.

Any chance Kobe tells Shaq how his ass tastes? I'd probably pay 20 to see that.

Kobe is closing it out with a good game. Never been a fan of his, but good for him, he's one of the best 50 to ever lace them up, it's good that he got his 'own' title.

That shot rivals the Jordan hand switch? Calm yourself, Jeff.
