What would it take to get Ed Davis I wonder? feel like he would be a good fit here and he might be cheap since everyone knows he is opting out of his contract.

I'd love to get Cousins. Not sure what it would take but I'd be willing to give up our 1st, the Clippers first, Knight and Henson. To have a Giannis, Jabari, Cousins as our big 3 sounds like it could be the start of a championship core.

Re: Trade Targets
Doesn't sound like any major gut busting trades on the horizon per Hammond...

General manager John Hammond made it clear Tuesday that the team's promising future will not be compromised for current gain, however.
"Look, the big picture for us is becoming a championship-caliber organization," Hammond said at the team's training center. "For us to get short-sighted and say, 'Let's try to win today' and replacing any thought of moving forward into the future, I think we're all aware that's not who we want to be.
"Anything we're looking at today is still hopefully going to be focused on acquiring a piece or talking about adding pieces that can be long-term players for this organization."
The NBA trading deadline is 2 p.m. (Central) Feb. 19 and the Bucks could be involved in making a deal or two.
The Bucks are in an enviable position where they may not have to sacrifice the present and can still focus on their future.
"We appreciate the team where we're at today and overachieving," Hammond said. "The talk about this team being a playoff team is such a great story in itself." - MJS/Gardner

Really like the overachieving sentiment. Says, at least to me, that they still believe the talent level isn't where it needs to be to become that championship organization.

Re: Trade Targets
I just hope the Larry Sanders fiasco is cleared up soon. Also that we clear some money off the books for this off-season, hopefully by trading Ersan. Seems like a lot of good players available in free agency.

I would do that in a heart beat. That is basically trading 4 quarters for a dollar

Which is why they would not do it...They are going to be looking for a 75 cent piece and 2 quarters.

I remember when O.J. Mayo said that Cousins had "mental issues". Which is a bit ironic...

Re: Trade Targets
There's absolutely no way the Kings trade Cousins for anything less than a king's ransom, and Brandon Knight + middling picks and prospects is not that.
I'm not even sure there's a package of assets out there that one team would be willing to give up. I see multiple lottery picks and at least one top 10 prospect or all-star caliber player as a starting point.

Agreed he won't be traded but players pretty much never return that value. The best historically a team can usually hope for is maybe a 50 cent piece, a quarter, and some change. The T Wolves being able to get Wiggins for Love was pretty much an anomaly. The more typical are the Shaq trades, Dwight trade, etc

Re: Trade Targets
Come on you guys - after years we finally get a bunch of players who have actual chemistry and you want to trade for Demarcus Cousins???????
Please, stop with that garbage.
To me, the plan seems to be:
1. Stick with what we have for this year
2. Hope we hit on our middle round 1st pick (see - Giannis)
3. Re-sign Knight
4. Make the serious decisions on our roster after next year when we'll have huge cap space
5. Be pretty good with an actual coach while that's happening
If you're not ok with that, go root for the Hornets. They now have Mo Williams as their PG. He was once our PG. And has a hairy back.

Re: Trade Targets
I've never understood the logic in the IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE MANAGEMENT/COACH/PLAYER GO ROOT FOR SOMEONE ELSE crowd. If we didn't love the team, we wouldn't care who the coach was or who played point or who was making the personnel decisions. I love Giannis but if he's traded tomorrow I'm not going to stop being a fan of the Bucks. Kidd's a great coach but he'll be somewhere else one day and I'll still cheer for Milwaukee.

That actually might be where I draw the line.

Re: Trade Targets
The one player I'm confident we don't trade is Giannis.
Kidd has made comparisons to a young KG and Kobe (demeanor wise) being so skilled at such a young age.
He's smart enough to realize he has quite possibly the most uniquely skilled talent in the entire NBA on his roster.

We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I don't know why, but this sort of thing pisses me off to no end. And let me just say that I completely agree with John Hammond's comments here. But where the F were these comments for the last decade?!?!?! Yeah, I know, I know, "Herb Kohl..." But I just can't help getting worked up every time I see these types of "build for the future" comments from this version of John Hammond. Because you could legitimately make a case for this team to become buyers at the deadline. We have a great system in place. Great locker room. Respect between players and coaches. Lock down team defense. We're competitive every single night. The one thing we're lacking is talent. You could make a case to mortgage the future and go for it. Obviously when I say mortgage the future, I don't mean trading Giannis, Jabari, or even Middleton. But you could make a case for packaging a future 1st (that won't be very high any more) with Henson and/or Knight to go out and get a very good big man or point guard. Hammond's comments are infuriating because there was NO case to be made the last few times we mortgaged the future to bring in vets. ZERO case. None. But now Hammond is the voice of reason? Laughable.

Re: Trade Targets
fake trades are fun, especially when its a 3-way....
Bucks out: Knight/Henson/Clips 2017 1st
Bucks in: DMo/Papanikolaou/Canaan
Rockets out: DMo/Papanikolaou/Canaan/Pels 2015 1st
Rockets in: Lawson/Henson
Nuggets out: Lawson
Nuggets in: Knight/Clips 2017 1st/Pels 2015 1st
why? because fake trades are fun.

That Clippers 1st and JOB for Adrien Payne would have been very interesting to me.
