Re: Doron Lamb appreciation thread
Everything about Monta's game regressed last season when he came to the Bucks and it has been a lot worse this pre season than it was at the end of last season.
If we are going to start Lamb, lets just tank so we can add an elite prospect to this group of young guys.

And Moute was better than Potsie
And Ersan better than Yi
And now Sanders better than Gooden
And Dunleavy better than Capt Jack.....
And for a brief spell there Mo and Bell were playing better than Redd, especially on a per dollar basis.
We pretty much **** up every high draft pick, trade and big dollar FA signing. And have some less heralded guy we gave up nothing for outperform them. Amazing how Kohl can do this year after year.
This is what bothers me about Hammond/Skiles the most, we bring in Gooden to be starting PF when there are already two guys much better than him at the position. It's obvious to by watching them play, the numbers show it's bleeding obvious but we stumble through the fail show anyway. Now we have Dalembert primed and ready to waddle through the start of the season when it's painfully obvious he should be the third string. Would it really shock anyone if Lamb and even Beno ended up better options than Monta Francis?

Re: Doron Lamb appreciation thread
It would appear that Skiles is tiring of the antics of the Run WTF backcourt. He's got high praise for Lamb here for simply playing under control.

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/ro ... 60031.html
"....His style of play is such that he's not going to do too much out there that he can't do," Skiles said. "Typically that's what young players would struggle with.
"They'd get into an environment like going into Boston and they'd get excited. They get the ball and start trying to do things they can't do and then they look bad because of it. He hasn't really done that yet.
"But this is a little bit different type of environment. We'll see how things go."
Lamb played two seasons at Kentucky and was part of the Wildcats' national championship team earlier this year. So the 20-year-old from Queens, N.Y., knows what it's like to be on a big stage.
He went up against veteran guard Ben Gordon and picked up some quick fouls in Charlotte. But Lamb never fouled out despite having five fouls with more than 7 minutes left in the game.
"That's the other thing that's kind of encouraging about him," Skiles said. "And he did it in rookie league, too. He seems to be able to learn during the game. You can coach him and he can adjust a little bit and figure some things out.
"There are a lot of things with Doron to be positive about, that's for sure."
The Bucks will need steady production from guards Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis if they are to continue the strong offensive output they showed last season, when they ranked fifth in the league in scoring.
Ellis struggled in the last two preseason games and was just 1 of 11 from the field and scored two points against the Timberwolves. Ellis and Jennings each had five turnovers on Friday.
"You're either going good or you're not," Skiles said. "When you're not going good, you've got to acknowledge it and do something about it.
"You've got to take action. That means if you're not making your shot, getting in the gym and shooting more and trying to find a rhythm. Then you go out and have a good night and have another good night, and all of a sudden you string together two or three good weeks of play and put it all behind you.
"That's how it works."

I think Beno & Lamb will play more than Jennings & Ellis want them to.

There was a comment from the team practice yesterday that the Beno/Lamb combination looked very good.

They probably kill Run WTF in practice.

The Beno-Lamb-Dunleavy-Udoh-Sanders lineup is what ran away with that Charlotte game. It's a lineup that makes a lot of sense to me and seems like it would be able to pick apart and frustrate bad teams with discipline and execution. Throw it out there against a good team, though, and the talent deficit will bubble up. It would help our normal, more talented lineup if Skiles gave a damn about shot selection and enforced some standards there.

Have to be careful not to put too much into preseason/Charlotte, but I agree and like this group. This lineup would give the starters a run for their money-not sexy, but I may put my cash on these guys.

Re: Doron Lamb appreciation thread
Lamb and Redick last night matched each other's point totals. Lamb got 35 minutes to JJ's 42.
Lamb shot 4-6 from 3, Redick 1-7.
I realize Lamb is the clear undercard in that trade and likely isn't anything more than a 3rd guard long term. But of the Magic trade "throw ins" of Ayon, Smith, Udrih and Lamb, I do think Lamb is the best asset of those four.
This summer our front office will panic over the lack of guards on the roster. Lamb would have been a good guy to have around.
Woelfel on the postgame show said a league guy called him yesterday and asked him why the hell the Bucks were playing Ayon over Henson. I think Ayon is terrible. He is a less talented version of Drew Gooden. A complete waste on defense and chucker on offense. How our front office felt he was a critical part of that trade is beyond me.
We got taken to the cleaners on that deal on all three guys we dealt.

Re: Doron Lamb appreciation thread
Hammond is such a nice guy, he's generous as well. The front office touted over the summer the fact that Lamb was a first round caliber talent, which was true given the majority of draft projections. Yet somehow we felt compelled to throw him into this deal too. An expiring, our best young asset, and another first round caliber talent (their words) for a potential rental. Did you catch the part PP where Woelfel said that some people around the league felt that the Magic didn't get enough at the deadline?
Go Bucks!

Yeah, I also heard the part where Woelfel said the decision to trade Tobias wasn't Herb Kohl's as well.
Time for Hambone to be held accountable for once.

The decision to trade Tobias may not have been Herb's but the decision to extend Hammond was. The incompetence of this franchise blows my mind.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Weren't they on a hot streak or a decent winning streak at the time of the extension? Herb is all about short-term goals. Jennings was on the trade block before the deadline before he dropped a couple of 30-point games. Then he was quickly yanked off. Can't trade a guy who just scored 30 last night.
Gotta love this team.
Nothing will not break me.

It's easy to understand. We liked the real gooden so much we signed him to a ridiculous contract that we will probably amnesty. How could we resist adding another Drew Gooden on an even cheaper deal?

I don't think I saw a single Magic fan have a positive opinion of Ayon after the trade went down, and he only played for them for half a year.

I agree on the "critical part" of the trade line we heard, he's nothing special. Worse Gooden is a bit much though, or do you really see him as a guy who's not even rotation worthy? I think he's a solid 4th big on any team. This is obviously a very small victory in the grand scheme of things, but just wondering.

Well Ayon is 28. He's at his peak right now.

I know this, I'm just asking if you guys think he's really a worse Gooden, or in other words one of the worst players in the NBA, or a decent rotation big like I do.
