Re: '14 Draft Thread (Let's talk late lotto again! Yaaay!!)
Some snap judgements that will make me look stupid next year:
Wiggins, Randle, and Embiid are my top 3.
I think Parker ends up being Shareef Abdur Rahim. I think Aaron Gordon slips after his insistence on being a perimeter player exposes him. Marcus Smart finds he should have left for the NBA this past season without improvements in his shooting percentage. Finds himself on the tail end of the lottery. Aaron Harrison leapfrogs Andrew Harrison. Isiah Austin becomes one of the most intriguing players in the draft, scouts don't know what type of player he'll become. Marcus Camby? Or Out of the league in a few years. A team takes a chance on him 8-10. Mcadoo falls into the 20s.

Re: '14 Draft Thread (Let's talk late lotto again! Yaaay!!)
Marcus Smart has a very long way to go before being anything near an All-Star level player, he makes some terrible decisions with the ball, far too many mistakes to be considered a PG right now. Nothing special on offense really, he's big and can draw fouls but every other part of his game on offense is average to below average. He seems like a good kid and of course he could improve, but he'll need to make drastic changes to his game to play the point and he'll have to improve his efficiency from damn near everywhere on the floor to be a positive scorer as a 2 guard. Where he really shines is on defense.

Honestly right now smart is like a 6'4 iguodola and that's the type of role he excels in, doing SF kinda stuff. Not a bad player by any means, but it's just really tough to project what he'll be in the future. From what I've seen I'd lean towards he's an NBA SG who plays some spot minutes at the point but it wouldn't shock me if some team fell in love with him as their PG of the future or something.
Definitely feel like Jabari Parker is getting underrated on this board too, which is sorta weird considering he's like super-tobes as a prospect. Also WCS probably goes a lot higher than most expect, there's a lot of tools to work with there.

I'd be VERY happy with Marcus Smart as a Buck. His hesistation moves and penetration are tailor made for setting up easy shots for our offensively challenged young big man duo. Hoping he develops D. Wade type tendencies on both ends. He's in my early top 5. We'll see how the college season shapes up.

Smart just screams Tyreke Evans to me. I'm not a huge Parker fan but I also get the feeling that he is being extremely underrated on this board. I really have no idea on Randle as I haven't seen much of him yet. For someone who has not seen Exum, what's the difference between Exum and MCW? Both tall point guards who are extremely unselfish with suspect jumpers?

Re: '14 Draft Thread (Let's talk late lotto again! Yaaay!!)
Smart is an interesting case. I love the player for who he is, however he's a bit small for a SG and I'm not sure is fast enough to hold down PG. His game is more a SG than PG, but I suspect he's returning to school to work on becoming a stronger, scoring point. I think he's a fantastic guy to have on your team with the way he plays, but has a little tweener in him.
Can't wait to watch Oklahoma State again this year.

Exum to me looks like some weird combination of Monta Ellis and Brandon Roy.

So, primarily a SG with some ball handling skill?

A bigger, longer Ellis with a brain and unselfish tendencies. Brandon Roy size without the Brandon Roy jumper.

Man I really want in that top 4. Just don't think we are bad enough...
The Bulls are the absolute worst.

I hope Exum is destined to be with the Bucks. We could use another Aussie and he would fit nicely with the current group:
Knight
Exum
Adetokunbo
Henson
Sanders
I'm sort of lusty for that group of guys, with the possible exception being Knight. Maybe the Basketball Gods will let it be so. Please let it be so.

Would rather have an Exum and Turner back-court. Just go for the longest and nastiest defense in the league.

Re: '14 Draft Thread (Let's talk late lotto again! Yaaay!!)
I guess I see Exum more as a SG in the NBA, but that's obviously TBD. Also I'm not a fan of Turner (I assume you're talking Evan Turner) and like Knight's length. I think that group would be as long and nasty as anybody. However, if we get Exum, I'll be ecstatic at this point.
I'm also anxious to see what Giannis can bring to the offensive end. Seeing him in the #34 jersey has some built in expectations for me.

Team wouldn't be able to shoot worth a damn, but then, the other team probably wouldn't be able to either.

If there's a guy who screams Tyreke Evans to me in this draft it's Andrew Harrison.
