He has balls. He takes and hits shots late in the game better than any Buck of the last 3 or 4 years. He will piss you off for 30 minutes only to turn into the hero the last 2 minutes of a game.

He has no point guard skills, however. None. If you can play him off ball you will like him more that way.

So he's Traevon Jackson.

Win.

He is extremely quick, and gets into the lane well, but the last 2-3 steps, he often has his head down. As a by-product he gets fouled often, and is a good FT shooter. Conversely, he also seems to suffer a lot of no-calls, so the blind drives to nowhere result in more turnovers. If he can figure out how to drive the lane and see where both he and his teammates are more often, that will serve him well.

As others have said, he's a short off-guard, who wants to run the point. Jason Terry-lite, or Lindsey Hunter. Conventional wisdom here is that Knight wants to be paid like a top-10 point, which was over the top for many of us here.

Also, he does appear to be a genuine stand-up high-character kid. This years Bucks all seem to get on well with each other and hang out together.

I genuinely hope he does well for you.

Suns Fan:

Forget everything you've read so far. Most of the posters on this board wanted to trade Knight, Henson, Ilyasova and more for Eric Bledsoe last summer and wanted to pay Bledsoe a max contract. The analysis of talent on this board isn't very good.

Knight is very, very good and getting better. He is very good going to the basket and finishing and he is a good shooter. He plays hard every night. If he was as bad as the posters make him out to be, his PER would reflect that. His PER is better than Dragic. There are few pass first point guards and there haven't been for ten years. The posters here are way behind the curve. Is Lillard a pass first point guard? How about Westbrook, Rose, Irving, Wall and Curry?

Knight is not a great passer, but there are other complimentary players on the Bucks. He was by far their best player this year and last. Going forward, he might have taken a back seat to Giannis and Parker. But the Bucks have won this year due to Knight's high level of efficiency.

What Phoenix got was a steal. The Bucks got MCW, who is a very inefficient player. He can't shoot and he can't create like Knight. The Bucks took a big step backward.

Excellent talent evaluation sir. The PER statistic is simply too much for any mere mortal to refute

Please, explain to me how Knight plays. Just give me an evaluation of him as a player, and list how many Bucks game you have viewed this year and last year too. This should be good.

this board is the absolute last place you'll get an honest opinion about Brandon knight.

if you like a mans man and you just want to win... you'll like him. but if winning annoys you, and youre SOLELY more interested in him setting up and developing the guys who cant get it on their own yet.... then you'll hate him.

playing him off ball with bledsoe will force his usage down and be ideal for his offense.... and as a replacement for dragic/Thomas on defense the difference will be huge as well.

if somebody offers up Bledsoe money..... it will be an overpay. but then gulp and give it to him.

I don't need to get into an argument with Bucks fans on Knight i already did when all stars were announced and Knights own fans were arguing with me when i said he should be an All Sar it was hilarious. It's just funny i mean you are the bucks which is funny in itself most years i mean the bucks?. This year you are doing really well yet you have hated on you're best player. Knight has been you're best player come and tell me who is? Do not even go there with the superiour talent Giannis that does not mean he is the best. Boy it is gonna be funny when you start sliding now.

You got the Bucks best player. He's a good shooter, rebounds, hustles, good defender, etc... He's simply a very good basketball player, your lucky to have him. Don't listen to the Brandon Knight haters, 80% of Bucks fans aren't happy he was traded. It's a sad day in Milwaukee...
Brandon Knight 5 yrs 60 million, get it done!!!!

The trade was finalized earlier today. You don't have to sell anymore. 8-)

Alright, lets say we start losing...why would it even matter? We got much better long term with 3 young players + a **** ton of cap space. We weren't winning a championship this season or anything LOL

We were going to be a first round out with Knight anyway, we didn't want him back next season because he isn't a PG. We got 3 young players for a an average player we were going to lose for nothing. It's clear to me you know absolutely zilch about the Bucks, but you have the nerve to come in here and tell everyone this is a bad trade with absolutely nothing to back it up. Get out of here you silly troll

Yeah, that PER is the be-all and end-all of every stat. Which is why Walt Bellamy, who never appeared in a single finals in a long career, and had a higher career PER than Bill Russell who appeared in twelve finals must have been a much better player than Russell.

Seriously, knight is a good kid and we won't win as much this year without him. Who cares about this year? This move gave us the flexibility and development that we need to be a championship caliber team. This is the light at the end of the tunnel friends. This is it. I can take a few MCW bricks in the meantime.

I won't put my chips on PER, but is there really any proof it is a broken system? I think it is a decent piece of many tools for talent evaluation, none of them are a end all be all though, the eye test to me should have the highest value. Problem with the eye test for casual fans or diehard fans is their bias.

Casuals look at Knight and say he is a star, which is complete crap, but the diehards here look at him and say crap, because he does not fit their bias.

Knight is a darn good basketball player, starting NBA talent without a doubt, will fight for 1-2 All-Star appearances in his career, but cannot be someone you build your team around. His strengths line up very well with the Suns system, so I think you got a very good piece to replace Dragic. With the Bucks things are ran more as a team, Knight did not have the green light, he had to play within the system. In your system down on Phoenix, I see Knight putting up 21-23ppg as I feel he will be given a green light to play more iso ball.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
