Reminds me of something I think MD said in the Bucks offseason thread this weekend that haunted me with its veracity. For as nice as it is to get excited about being hypothetically able to clear salary, can you imagine what this regime would do with it? Unless there are some serious changes in the way ownership runs things and the decks are cleared for people who have an actual plan, I shudder to think whom we would even be giving out that fresh cap space to.

Weird how Snell can go from traded for MCW to actually really valuable no one can replace him in 10 months.

I know it would never happen but even taking an interview with Hayward or George Hill would've shown me a ton about the owners moving forward.

I mean the Clippers are in cap hell and just met with Gallinari. Why can't we?

I think a more apt comparison are the New Jersey Nets teams of the 2000s (and for the record I think this Nets teams was more talented but it's not a big stretch) or the Joe Johnson/Horford Hawks circa 2010.

I respect that people disagree but Hakeem's Rockets were by no means a dominant team. They won back-to-back championships but four of their eight series went to game 7 (one was actually game 5 in a best-of-five). I consider those Rockets teams to be some of the weakest champions ever.

Really? The 95 Rockets had one of the most incredible post season runs ever. They took out the Stockton/Malone Jazz (third seed), the Barkley Suns (2 seed), Robinson Spurs (1 seed) in succession then swept the Shaq/Penny Magic.

94 was a bit ho-hum as the Jordan hangover year but 95 was amazing.

I mean I don't buy the whole miserable whinge about us being a small market in cold climate therefore no FA will ever consider us

But, for a serious FA to consider us first you have to demonstrate that a) you're one player away from contending, b) you can pay him or have some viable plan to clear cap room for him and c) you are generally a sane organisation that is not going to shoot itself on the foot in the last minute.

The Bucks haven't demonstrated any of the above. Do that first and someone like Hayward will say **** it I'll go team up with this greek kid for a couple of years and make a run for it.

Not sure what Pritchard was smoking when it came to PG, but Portland's reported offer was good too.

Where did I say he was irreplaceable? Snell is nothing special but he's a whole lot more useful than McLemore. I get he's tempting because some see a reclamation project in him but it's fools gold.

McLemore has played under four coaches now and shown absolutely nothing despite being given ample opportunity to demonstrate he belonged in the NBA. Sure he played for one of the worst franchises in the league but he was given a lot of chances to cement a spot on one of the worst teams in the league and he couldn't do it.

Snell is nothing special but at has shown steps to becoming a useful role player.

In his last season with the Bulls Snell shot 37% from the field and 36% from three. He was 24.

McLemore last season shot 43% from the field and 38% from three. He's currently 23.

One guy wont be in the league much longer. One guy showed he's now becoming a useful role player.

Funny huh?

Best post!!

The Bucks will manage to get better (44-38 and 5th seed -suck it Atlanta-). Kidd will remain as a coach, but we will lose 4-2 in the first round, because the opponents will figure out how crappy our def. scheme is. #ownthetreadmill

Snell shot 45% from three in 2017, posted the highest eFG% on the team, and he's familiar with the system and players. Let's not compare him with McLemore.

John Henson blocked 4 shots per 36minutes in 2014. He knows the system and players lets not compare him to...

Funnily enough Henson led the team in eFG% too

Standing in a corner doing nothing besides shoot threes off Giannis drives vs not.

But, but, but...Hinkie was just a Tanker! Now we have a publicly declared Cap Expert!

As we always lament our mess, a good fix is always only 12 months away. Assuming we have the right person running things.

In the Bucks case it's always 12 months away from being 12 months away from 12 months away from being 12 months away...(continued)

Or, you know, 40.6%, which really isn't that far from McLemore's 38.2% and let's not forget that Snell's highest 3 point% before this year was 37.1% and his highest FG% 42.9. McLemore eclipsed both of those numbers this year.
