Thanks.

I'm trying it out tonight. I hate puzzle games so this one is especially not for me.

ETA: But the first time I made it out clean was a better gaming high than anything I'd played in years.

Take those to a fence when you feel like doing so.

Thanks for that advice. I have the Legend of the East satchel so now I’ve got 99 bars ready to go. Not like I probably need that many, but what the hell.

when and where can we get that satchel? That sounds like a worthy investment.

Bought it, no shipping costs, will be at my house before Friday, so now I don't have to go there on Black Friday. :)

Sigh...I swore I wasn't going to get the new Call of Duty, but with my friends being obsessed with the battle royale mode and the fact that I can get it for $16 right now ($45 for Black Friday + my Gamers Club discount + $20 reward certificate) is really tempting.

I'm a diehard BF user, hate the COD MP but the battle royale was enough for me to buy. I would love to play more but I simply don't have a friend base that plays to keep me interested. I'm also just not a good COD user, I can do very well in BF but COD I'm just terrible.

You have to have Pearson craft it at the camp. Once you craft the first six upgrades, the Legend of the East unlocks. It takes quite a bit of hunting, but I'm glad I did it. It can hold 99 of almost anything, and it’s kind of a shock going from a limit of 3 or 5 to 99. This Polygon article does a good job detailing what you need to do and gives some tips on where to find some of the animals (but there are many more tips floating online if you get stuck).

Here’s the list of what you need:
Every Satchel upgrade requires a perfect deer hide, so you’ll need seven in all. Here’s what else you need for each one:
•a perfect buck hide and a perfect elk hide for the Tonics Satchel
•a perfect badger skin and a perfect squirrel carcass for the Ingredients Satchel
•a second perfect elk skin and a perfect panther skin for the Kit Satchel
•a perfect bison hide and a perfect raccoon skin for the Provisions Satchel
•a perfect boar hide and a perfect iguana skin for the Materials Satchel
•a perfect beaver skin and a perfect rabbit skin for the Valuables Satchel
•and, finally, a perfect wolf skin and a perfect cougar skin to craft the Legend of the East Satchel

Me and perfect skins, yeah that isn't happening.

Do you know if you can do it late in the game? I'm on Chapter 4.

Yeah, it feels like people aren't taking to it. It sounds like the lack of NPCs really hurts the overall experience.

Sounds like they screwed up in trying to have it both ways. Made an online FPS shared game world but didn't populate it so people who didn't want to play a multiplayer game didn't have to be bothered by other people.

I deleted what I had here before because it was mostly wrong. As soon as chapter 6 starts you can go up to Pearson and have him craft satchels. It is true that once you complete the epilogues you can just buy craftable items from a fence and not have to do the hunting.

Struggling to get into RDR. The movement feels kinda like how NBA 2K has evolved over the years, where sure it's more realistic but with the momentum and the animations it feels less like a game because you don't have as much control.

The auto aim is also bothering me for some reason. Feels too easy. Add all the cutscenes and press this button to do this popups and it feels like I'm playing something from Telltale.

Maybe I'm just old.

Alright guys, I've been struggling with my Switch exile so I just pulled the trigger on a Xbox One X. I already have a 65" 4k tv and I have the itch to play RDR2, Halo and Madden which I can't do on the Switch. I found a special for $340 for the One X, so I decided I had to do it. I anticipate being able to cover the cost of the system and a few games with fantasy football winnings.

No, you're not old. I'm the same way about the game and if you're old then I am old and I can't accept that yet.

I know some say it brings you into the game, makes you appreciate the detail more. But I think they went just a bit too far with it. I feel like I move one way and it takes 3 seconds for that action to complete. My damn fingers got sore from holding buttons down just to complete an action too. I played it for 6-8 hours but then lost interest and haven't gone back sense. I have some free time this weekend with no fiance and no dogs at the house so I'll try again then.

It's not age - well, maybe the pain from holding down buttons is? - but some people get annoyed by certain things more than others. The animations and controls could be more smooth, definitely. The pacing of the game is slow, but I'm pretty convinced that isn't a product of poor design as much as it is a product of a deliberate decision by Rockstar to force you to slow down and take in the world around you.

I didn't think I'd enjoy the game when I first heard about it, but now that I've bought it and have sunk in about 40 hours into it, I found myself really enjoying it. Not everything is for me - hunting/minigames aren't my thing. But just hopping on my horse and riding through the map can be quite enjoyable - especially when you get to the later stages of the main story and experience the different parts of it.

I'm with y'all. It's a very well made game, but it hasn't retained my attention yet.

2" Samsung C32HG70 came today, I think I'm in love. Still need to do a lot of color calibrating but I'll get there. Come Friday I won't be leaving my office.

Recommendations for a 27" (or more) monitor with built-in speakers? Would love to get 2K, but don't want to spend a fortune. I'm okay sitting out on 4K for now. Would be used not only for gaming, but photo editing and general computing...thinking of replacing my current iMac with a monitor on my desk hooked up to the gaming machine I built. It's just so much faster :D

Really depends on your budget, but now is going to be the best time to buy. I honestly think you could get away with a 27" 2k 144hz monitor today or Monday for less than $250. And if 2k really doesn't matter you can find a 32" 1080 for $150-200

Im right in the middle of this debate on Red Dead Redemtion 2. Playing it, its hard not to feel like you are in Westworld. The immersion and openess are incredible. And yet, there is a slow and repetitive clunkiness that intentional or not, is annoying.

Perhaps some of this scrutiny and sentiment is because we have already played one masterpiece (the original). Its certainly an incredible achievement. But leaves me with the feeling when I took my kids to “Incredibles 2” or “Toy Story 3.”
