Figure kcp returns to the lakers, just depends on kawhi what his contract is. Would l8ve him if the trade exemption ends up being a thing we can utilize

So Raps have Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol all expiring, if Kawhi goes to LA, will Masai blow it up?

If kawhi goes to Lakers that team us no better than previous warriors teams or the heat when LeBron was there. If anything they are going to be older are more injury prone and run by the Ringling Brothers.

They are to be feared but iwbd if I say they aren't beatable

Shame we couldn't get Tolliver. He's real good.

Could we have the assets to pick up any?

Indiana first and two seconds. Our own firsts/seconds from 2024.

Beal would be great but he seems to want to stay with the Wizards for some reason. Their starters right now are IT, Beal, Jonathon Simmons, Mo Wagner and Bryant lol...

PG seems to love OKC. Couple of seasons before Booker wants out, imo. Griffin is getting on and injury-prone.

A bit of in-state FA news: Matt Thomas (Onalaska High School/Iowa St) signs a three year deal with Toronto.
https://lacrossetribune.com/sports/local/pro/pro-basketball-onalaska-graduate-matt-thomas-signs-with-toronto-raptors/article_0519fd38-fac6-5695-9fd2-3d7479ccfb07.html#tracking-source=home-trending

The 6-foot-5 Thomas built a reputation as a shooter during both of his professional stops in Spain. He shot 48.5 percent from the 3-point line (63-for-130) as Valencia, which posted a 45-18 combined record, won the EuroCup title and advanced to the second round of the Liga ACB playoffs.

Thomas, who led Onalaska to a WIAA Division 2 state championship as a junior before playing four seasons and competing in four NCAA Tournaments with Iowa State, averaged 11.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The three-year deal with the Raptors has been reported to be worth $4.2 million

So no better than teams who won b2b titles? Haha.

They’ll have depth issues but Kawhi/Lebron is an absurd 1-2. Davis will be a two way monster. Gonna be tough to beat once they gel together.

I would take Kawhi/Lebron/AD over the heat and possibly the warriors too.Unless Lebron falls off hard doesn't matter with who they surround them. They are too damn talented.

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Yep purely as a big 3 i think LeBron/AD/Kawhi is by far the greatest trio of all time. Thankfully they traded away all their other assets outside of kuzma and have Vogel/Kidd running the coaching staff

I like Beal and obviously George but a big meh to Old broken Griffin or one way Booker.

George isnt going anywhere.

Beal would be amazing still and is likely the most "realistic"

A LeBron/AD/Kawhi trio is three guys who all have stakes on 'maybe the best player in the league.' In Miami, LeBron obviously, and Wade might have qualified as his peak, but certainly not Bosh. In GS, Steph and Durant could make that claim, but not Thompson or Draymond.

LeBron has probably fallen down a level from that now, but he's still Lebron, and it'll be interesting to see how he performs now with some meaning behind the team.

So I agree - it's hard to argue with this trio. They need guys to surround them with now, though. Kuzma is there. Sounds like Iggy might be, though he's quite old now.

The fact that we have to come up with reasons why this isn't the best team of all time proves they are a really, really, really good team. Ok, so they might not be as good as the 2 best teams in the last 20 years, but they are the 3rd.

Guys who might take a 1-year prove it on a championship contender: Jabari, Morris-twins, Trey Burke, Justin Holiday, Lyles, Shumpert, Stauskas, Jerebko, Boban
Unfortunately, there are a lot of solid vets ready for the min: Rondo, Brewer, Lance, Dudley, Vince, Crawford, Dudley, W. Chandler, T Chandler, Felton, Harris are ancient but can fill a few spots. These guys aren't going to be playing 30 min a game but could play a tough couple minutes when needed

AD/Lyles/Chandler
Lebron/Jerebko
Kuzma/Jabari
Leonard/Holiday
Rondo/Burke/Chandler

If the Lakers get Kawhi, I honestly couldn't give two **** about the rest of the roster. That team should dominate regardless. I'd have Kuz putting up 5000 3's a day.

Kawhi AD Lebron. That could lure free agents for quite a few years. Even if Lebron rides off into the sunset in a couple years. AD and Kawhi are 2 young super stars. It feels like we blew our one shot at the ship this year. This really might have flipped a switch in Giannis head too. Star free didn't and likely aren't coming to Milwaukee.

We pretty much locked up our cap for the foreseeable future with two year, three year, five year player option contracts. Hopefully we can continue to dominate the league, I just don't see how we added the talent to get Giannis open. What will stop teams from loading up on Giannis like Toronto did in the playoffs?

This team is currently feels lesser than this past season. Hopefully not.

Not trying to nitpick at all - this just got me thinking about the best teams of the last 20 years. And not franchises, but teams.

Warriors are #1 IMO.

I think Spurs' early-2000s team has a claim on #2, with 3 championships in 5 years. The composition changed a bit over those years, so maybe you consider them different teams, idk.

Heat obviously can be in the discussion.

Lakers' run from 2000-2002 with Shaq and Kobe are obviously up there and also have a claim on #2 spot. They were seen as unbeatable also. I think some would argue them for the #1 spot.

Lakers' team with Kobe and Pau can be in the conversation. I don't think they beat out these other teams, but it was a great team.

Going off the top of my head, but I think that's probably the ones you consider.

I see what you're saying. The hope is that in response Giannis isn't catching the ball outside the 3pt line all the time and we diversify some sets for him on the block or as a roll-man. I think there's ways to counter the wall but time will either prove that true or Bud will be too stubborn to change.

Also I'm much less fearful of them once LeBron is done and Giannis should still be in his prime when that happens.

I expect a statement like that on the GB. Not here.

Torontos game plan wasnt anything new. Been done a ton. It only worked for Toronto due to a combination of all Bucks shooters going cold, Bledsoe forgetting how to dribble, Torontos personel and Giannis FT shooting taking a dive which allowed Toronto to play as aggressive as they wanted.
