First injury post Bud. Should be interesting to see how Griffin deals with relying time frames when asked during summer league.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

All I know is Giannis has sacrificed his body for this team time after time. When his career is over we will all miss him.

I wonder if there is any pre surgery prep or exercises that can be done to make the surgery more successful. The season is such a grind, that I would not be shocked if his muscles/lingaments, etc were fragile/tight/whatever that if you rest, do stretching, streghtening of certain compensating muscles etc before-hand so you can have better results.

I'm throwing crap out there as I really have no idea what is involved and what does or not impact the surgery.

I'd be stunned if this was the first time he's had a cleanup in his career. The only reason we're hearing about it is because the World Cup is around the corner. This stuff in pretty routine for athletes given the wear and tear their bodies experience.

It should be obvious to all of us, especially those who have been here for a while that these ARE the "Those were the days" years.

I remember last year when Khris had his surgery in the middle of the summer and it reminded me of a shaq qoute where he talked about rehabbing after vacationing and relaxing. To basically rehab on the teams time and not during his time. I imagine Giannis wanted to go home with his family and relax for a month or two before getting back to work.

Take some rest, Γιάνναρε. He needs it, a hard year is coming. Get well soon. A participation in World Cup could maybe be harmful, our National team is s*** anyway.

Was wondering why this thread got bumped.

Not great news. Just means he's mortal like everyone else, and the knees will ultimately deteriorate over time. How slow or how fast will be critical.

Some day 50 years in the future when my grandchildren are talking about how LeBron James IV is the real GOAT, I'll remind 'em that Charles Antetokounmpo's grandfather was the best player I'd ever seen live.

Research suggests that 'clean ups' may actually accelerate the breakdown of the articular surface, which is why they are done far more sparingly. The term clean up itself belies the fact that it can be quite a significant surgery.

Given the persistent knee issues he's had for years, what's more likely? They waited this long to do the first one? Or this isn't the first rodeo?

Can always fall back on his jumper and post moves when his knees go. Oh.

See is when you need a coach to try to keep giannis from doing so many of those run through the wall plays and tone down his game to be more inside but the problem is his low post game sucks to whatever

Whenever someone says that Giannis is only successful because he is so athletic, they have to be pointed to the rest of the Antetokoubros
Those boys were Americanized and gifted money and women. They didn't really have the same upbringing as Thanos and Freak.

I think there's something to this. They don't have memories of homelessness/grumbling bellies and that insatiable hunger the older brothers have.

They've grown up with amazing privilege and good for them. The older brothers wanted to take care of their family more than anything in the world.

There's always something beyond athletic gifts, motivation/mindset is difficult one to quantify and capture.
