The good news is he’s really young and has a projectable frame/athleticism.
Gotta figure out how to make it work.

Don't have high expectations for this pick, 19 with an NBA body but that's it. Don't you think you hide a guy away like that unless you're working some sort of scheme like Thon Maker & his handler. Like our undrafted guys better. This guy can be athlete on the Herd ig.

I had Jake Layman as a decent comp for him. He's more of a straight-line athlete and probably needs 1-2 years in the G-league before he's ready, but he's a great flier to take based on the pedigree/talent. His jumper is fine and I expect it to improve. Good mechanics and natural release. He's about as solid an upside guy that you're gonna find this late in the draft.

Sounds like the kind of guy I was hoping for. Instead of drafting a 24 year old who might be the 9th guy, grab a 19 year old who might be out of the league soon but has NBA starter upside. It's a good method. Giannis worked out. Tobes worked out. Vaughn is still young.

I guess, but who doesn't have starter upside if we consider guys that haven't really shown any NBA skills as starter upside? lol

"Please don't draft my client because somebody else promised to draft my client." Not sure I get the "draft promise" logic.
I can see for an old team like Bucks, an agent might figure his guy might have a better chance to fit and get an opportunity within the next few years, I guess.
May also be that agent thought he had a "promise" with somebody else, but it wasn't actually a "promise" and the team broke that conditional promise when somebody else better lasted to their pick.

Ironically the older guy (Moore) is the one with more obvious starter upside. I think Livingston is the classic early bloomer, but I'm heartened that the Bucks seem to have targeted a teenager, that the interest was mutual, and that at 19 he's physically ready for the league. Touch seems ok, good activity level. If you squint, you could see some OG. Easy to understand why he'd want to start his pro career with Griffin.

It's easy for guys like us to just say "F that team you want to go to, tough luck". I think a lot of people often forget that GM's have to still maintain relationships with players, agents, and other front offices as opposed to just constantly trying to dick the other 29 teams over.

Seems like straight line drives versus out of position/mismatched defenders and drawing contact are his thing.
Probably smoked a lot of high school kids with his overwhelming size/athleticism. Only gets tougher from there.
Maybe Corey Maggette is best upside

Re: #58 - Chris Livingston
The cap situation almost guarantees we have to fill out the roster with 2nd round guys and he also gets to learn from the worst-shooting best player in the NBA. Even at 58, it's a good opportunity for him to last in the league, so not that weird IMO.

I'm aware, I just don't really buy it made a difference. The idea that Klutch is calling around begging teams not to take a guy who really showed nothing that would indicate he's ready for the next level.

Re: #58 - Chris Livingston
My initial thought was I'm glad Jackson-Davis was taken at 57 because if the Bucks didn't draft him because of a promise made weeks ago, that would've annoyed me.
In any event, I looked up the last 20 years of drafts and 3 players that were the last pick have played 1000 minutes in their NBA career, Tyrone Wallace in 2016, Robert Sacre in 2012 and Isaiah Thomas in 2011. He's probably going to need a redshirt year, but I think Livingston has a decent chance to be number 4 on that list.

It wouldn't surprise me if that pick was as much of a favor to Rich Paul as anything else.

Re: #58 - Chris Livingston
May have just been a favor to Klutch, and if so, hopefully they're getting ready to strongarm Dejounte Murray and OG Anunoby to the Bucks in a few days as well.
