I just hate the fact that we haven't had a chance to see this big three in action together for any extended period of time. It's so hard to ascertain whether this has any chance of working when Khris won't play.

The simplest answer is still the correct one. Khris' body is breaking down and he basically needs to be load-managed very carefully from this point of his career on. It is what it is. You guys can be upset about it, but calling him lazy is stupid. It's in the best interest of the team to have him as healthy as possible for the playoffs, and they're threading a tough needle right now. It's only become a problem because the team has struggled so much out of the gate, and the conversation the front office now needs to have is whether or not it's worth it to trade him for 1-2 lesser but more durable guys as soon as he can come back and put up his usual 15/5/5 numbers on good efficiency.

Yea, you're right. So it's been 6 months then. It's all that much crazier.

The most frustrating aspect about it is the last time we saw Khris on the floor, he was absolutely cookin. Didn't look washed whatsoever. But then this stuff happens and it makes you wonder what's going on.

We clearly need his playmaking and scoring right now.

Yes. I believe he could play today (I'd bet money he'd play tonight if we had a playoff game) and they are all in agreement that a lighter regular season workload is necessary and milking this situation for the first quarter or third of the season is what they think is best in the end.

Those tires have a lot of tread man, and maybe the belief is there's only so many minutes/games in them before they break down and now is the least cost effective time to be using those minutes. Now is actually the perfect time to control his season workload. What's the point in playing now if they need to sit him every third game to load manage.

It also could explain Doc's frustration. If this is a medical risk aversion move, it's easy to agree to that when things are fine but when you look **** and your seat might feel hot then it's understandable to be tempted to say **** this risk, get him out there. Plus, he's more old school so any strategic load management might seem too soft to him. Not even saying he or they are right or wrong.

Not trying to go conspiracy theorist, they think this is the right path and it's not a crazy notion and actually takes balls to watch us struggle at the start of the season in a gamble that we'll be at our best when it matters.

I'm not saying it's technically incorrect but it's funny that 'load management' now covers 'missed the first 15 games of the season and counting'.

I do find it funny that Embiid got back on the court before Middleton did, but after watching him play these last couple games......maybe he should've taken another couple weeks.

I think the Era of Embiid is just over. The process is complete.

It's not super surprising that he hit 30 like a brick wall and one significant injury was enough to permanently derail him as an elite player (he's going to be better than this, but he's never going to get back to that level consistently -- remember the feeling of relief you got whenever AD subbed in for him in Paris). Like, I think a lot of us kind of saw it coming: he doesn't love basketball enough and he definitely doesn't love extra effort. He was never going to get all the way back to his previous level after a long layoff on the sad side of 30. But it's still sobering to see it actually happen.

I agree Khris is being load managed and could probably play tonight, its frustrating but they can't come out and say it.

Oh good, Doris tonight (along with Mark Jones). Can't wait to hear her Celtics takes.

It's kind of funny, the game will be broadcast on 3 different channels and each announcing team is worst than the next.

Ours is bad, ESPN is really bad with Jones and Doris bad and the Chicago crew might be the worst in the NBA.

I will forever miss Jim & Jon.

Ajax can't dunk even alone and Dame can't hit a wide open three...
Great start so far, lol.
