Ty Jerome and NAW are the 1st 2 that come to mind. Both free agents. NAW is a terrific defender, Jerome the high IQ clutch shooter with primary ball handler skills.

They’ll need a coach who can maximize them

Ruptured my Achilles back in August…when I saw the play and him grab his foot and just sit there I knew it was the Achilles. Feel bad for Dame, 6-8 month recovery he should be back January or February

If we do trade Giannis, it is imperative we don't rush it. If no one offers up everything we want we need to hold him until next deadline.

Give me Taylor Jenkins at this point in time. Previous experience with the organization and Giannis and he always got the most out of those Memphis teams even when missing some of his best players to injury or suspension.

Edit: I like Johnnie Bryant from CLE too, but doubt owners will hire another 1st time head coach with Giannis still on the roster.

You’re only kicking $67.5 million down the road for three years. The Bucks will pay approximately $75 million in luxury tax this year alone. It all depends on where they see themselves as a taxpayer the next two years.

We’ll see then. I’d give it less than 5% chance of even being considered, but I know who’s running this team

With the impending cap explosion its kind of a no brainer

Cap shenanigans question. A player can stretched for double the years remaining on their contract, plus 1. Can we sign Dame to a cheap extension so we can spread out the stretch 2 years longer?

Chat GPT knows what’s up!

Player
Herb Jones
Best young 3&D wing in NBA. Can guard 1-4. Doesn’t need ball.
Tari Eason
Younger version of PJ Tucker. High-energy defender, tough as nails.
Derrick Jones Jr.
Athletic wing, elite on-ball defender, vertical lob threat.
De’Anthony Melton
Guard version of Herb. Disruptive defender, hits open 3s.
Jaden McDaniels
(If somehow available) 6’10 lockdown wing, perfect Giannis sidekick.
Caleb Martin
Playoff-tested, can defend wings, shoot, drive.
Bruce Brown
Smart, physical, winning plays everywhere on court.

Best possible outcome for our future could possibly be that we need our best player in franchise history to ask out. Just a disastrous position to be in for a small market team.

I can't believe Jon Horst was extended a few days ago.

Assuming Dame ruptured it and the owners won’t fire Doc, why shouldn’t Giannis ask out. And if he does ask out, no reason to dump or stretch Dame immediately. Make the Nets or OKC or Spurs use their assets and draft capital to make a deal that includes the Flagg pick and some of the Bucks own picks back to them. Let the team that wants Giannis figure out the logistics on all that.
Then let Brook walk, let Bobby walk or trade him if he opts in, let Pat’s contract expire, think about keeping KPJ if he’s inexpensive, keep AJG as a shooter for Flagg spacing, keep Sims if he’s cheap and see how he does with starters minutes, if someone offers anything for Kuz they can have him, but worst case you’re just waiting for Dame and Kuz to expire in a couple years while you let Flagg grown in the league. Owners can even be cheap and just let Doc’s contract expire at the same time.
You can also offer to take Grant’s contract off the Blazers hands in exchange for Bobby/Pat/filler if the Blazers give back the Bucks picks.

With no Dame and if he stays healthy, his numbers will be absolutely stupid. But he does turn 31 in December, and will be that much closer to being UFA. This league comes at you fast.

If Giannis becomes available I’d imagine we’ll get some huge offers pretty quickly. He’s not the sort of guy you low ball on as he’ll get snapped up pretty quickly. A team like Charlotte for example would pretty quickly offer nearly anything and everything to get him.

If we seriously decide to go down that path, I think you wait until the draft is set and offer him for the #1 pick. Then just fire sell the vets and start collecting young players and draft assets.

Let Cooper play with Dame while we rehab his value and quickly trade him for more draft assets if he can show he still has stuff left in the tank.

The nice thing is that I think pretty much EVERY team in the lottery would trade the #1 overall pick for two years of Giannis and the inside track to extend/retain him. Outside of maybe the Jazz.

FWIW, I doubt we ever trade Giannis unless he asks for it or he leaves in his next FA period. It’s the easier route to take opposed to a tear down and rich guys tend to like money.

I’m not so sure. I mean if Charlotte got that pick for example I doubt they’d trade Cooper for him unless there’s some sort of agreement about extending his deal. Two years of Giannis prob isn’t worth a potentially generational talent like Cooper.

I think they would. Pairing Ball and Miller with Giannis takes them from havenots to instantly a top four seed. Bucks could even take back bad salary (Nurcic) yo help them out. Maybe Im wrong.

I’m not trading Giannis ever and I hope AWFUL things happen to John Horst and our owners. I am NOT a fan of the people running the team and have zero interest in seeing their dumbasses drive to the franchise into the ground. Giving them the green light and tools to do it may as well be a ticket out of town.
