Schlenk is a dolt. Even his best move as a GM (drafting Trae) came at the expense of passing on a better player. Just incredibly poor roster construction all around and I expect him to compound it in the offseason when he'll hand out a $100 million extension to John Collins.

I would assume there is one. Just not one that was publicized.

Kind of depends on why they are looking to move him, I guess it's possible he wants out. Being that Bogey was a restricted FA and wanted out of Sac his agent might just be happy to have got him paid and out of there.Matches Malone wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:I don't think he's a good GM for multiple past decisions but if they get even a minor asset for Bogey it's not really a bad signing because they didn't give up anything but cap space to acquire him.tydett wrote:Probably time for some to recognize that Travis Schlenk is just not a good GM.
I'd be curious if it would hinder any future dealings with potential agents and their players. Not saying that will happen in this case, but probably not a reputation Schlenk would want to assume of getting out of big deals half-way into the first year.
Can't believe I'm defending Schlenk, I think he's done a crap job overall. Although I guess I have to acknowledge that Hunter looks like a pretty nice player so looks like he got that pick right.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Death, taxes, Patty fly-bys and Virginia Cavaliers turning into good NBA players.

And this is apart from the fact that the dude knifed us (and had a previous history of knifings). I can't imagine we'd be eager to revisit that relationship.

Schlenk also thought Woj reporting our pick from the league conference call was Woj leaking our pick before we made it.

Man, Schlenk is such a bizarre looking dude, looks like a gigantic baby. Man needs to grow a beard or something.

IMO it's not great for the league that some teams have vax access and some don't. Hopefully we can all get it soon.

Re: ATL - 2021 Second Half
Schlenk is flailing.
I don't think there's much chance we would swoop in and take back the Bogdan that is ours. Horst heavily implied that he and his agent did us dirty, and since Giannis already signed the supermax, bringing him in seems like less of a priority.
However I don't think the league has a permanent moratorium on Bogdan joining the Bucks. We just couldn't sign him this offseason since we so obviously tampered.
So just for fun: some kind of 3 way deal where we send out Pat + Lopez is enough outgoing salary to work.
I'd be very reticent to include Donte any more considering how good he's looked (and how much help we've needed on defense). But the Rockets 2nd rounder sure.
In theory the Bucks could consider BroLo to be more easily replaceable now that we have PJ Tucker and Portis.
We'd need a third team to positively value Lopez (likely as part of a bigger trade the Hawks would be working on) to make this kind of deal more realistic. Not sure of the likelihood of that, especially if the team could just keep Bogdan for themselves.

I wish it was us who got Griffin instead of the Nets. Very underrated move IMO

Lopez, Pat and Rockets 2nd is not getting us Bogdan.
If any other team is interested we're outgunned

Swear to god.. I have thought this exact same thing. I bet he gets asked to come to holiday parties dressed as the new years baby. In a diaper and a sash with the year written on it. Ha. Im glad there is someone else that has these same thoughts.

I'm not even giving up Pat and BroLo for the right to pay the lesser Bogdanovic $18 million per year. I don't know why he continues to get overrated like this. We dodged a bullet there.

Pat alone is too much. Similar value player on a way better contract. Bogdan's contract is gross for his impact.

Same, I don't know why it was viewed like such a big disaster on this board at the time (other than the bad looks of publicly botching a trade).
Bogdanovic did not even impress me in Fenerbahce, I mean he scores alright but he doesn't really do anything else. Definitely an Atlanta Hawks / General Board kind of guy.

The only way Collins is worth a 100m is if it's over 5 years. Actually.. I don't think he's worth that either.
