Not sure what everyone will think but this trade but it adds more youth around Giannis.

Bucks In: Dejounte Murray, Buddy Hield, Saddiq Bey, Chris Duarte, Richaun Holmes and #38 via SAC

Hawks In: Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis

Pacers In: John Collins, 2024 1st via ATL (Lottery Protected) and 2024 2nd via SAC

Kings In: Grayson Allen

Bucks flip Jrue and Bobby for some younger players who can be resigned while adding another pick in this years draft.

Hawks move off of Collins contract while adding his replacement and a better backcourt partner for Trae.

Pacers add some draft picks for taking on Collins who fits nicely next to Turner.

Kings add another shooter while dumping Holmes.

Murray, Carter
Hield, Connaughton
Middleton, Duarte/Beauchamp
Giannis, Bey
Lopez, Holmes

Does Middleton opting out and signing say a 4/$130 mil contract give us any extra ability in free agency?

It brings the Bucks $7MM further away from the 2nd Tax Apron which might allow them to use the TPMLE. Otherwise, there’s no real benefit.

depending on what the give Brook there is a world where they have access to the TPMLE, which would get a real player

I think we have access to the TPMLE this summer regardless. It would just make it that much more difficult to get below the line in future years, depending on what else we do.

right the easiest path to ensuring that is to just keep brook/khris reasonable. Which is why i think there is a chance Brook leaves. Because there are teams that can give him unreasonable offers.

Porzingis opting-in made me think it's not impossible Middleton does as well.

We'll see soon enough!

What do we think the Blazers would trade for Khris?

Khris is looking for a longterm deal at less dollars. Something easier to stomach/pay then kristaps who would be looking for an extension higher then is opt in

Spoof twitter accounts are so annoying.

Just saw one that was pretending to be Woj that said Ayton and Jrue to Blazers, Grant/Little to Suns, and Simons/3rd overall to Bucks. Temporarily got me real excited until I looked at the account.

TThe more I think about it, I think our best option is getting Collin Sexton next to the big 4

I misremembered, the 'no TPMLE for second apron teams' is one of the provisions that takes effect this summer.

That would be incredibly uninspiring. Yuck.

He could easily become a top 25 player on the Bucks

If I had any confidence in Horst not getting completely bent over by Ainge I’d honestly agree. Sexton is a bucket getter and a feisty defender that actually prides himself on defensive effort which is rare in todays offensive oriented league.. I’d welcome it as long as it didn’t break the bank.. can Horst accomplish that with such a shrewd counterpart?

Sexton definitely has the bigger upside still, but I feel like Buddy Hield would be a much better fit with the guys in terms of his personality and playing style. Shot the hell out of the ball last year too

Sexton is crazy competitive with a fantastic work ethic, think he’s a great personality fit with Giannis/Griffin. And a quick shot creator, fills a significant need on court as well. And still just 24 years old with a very reasonable contract that’ll take him through much of his prime. He’s one of the buy low-ish guys I want the most, I feel Griff/Stotts and playing next to the core 3 can get him much closer to his ceiling.

The fact that Utah was a rebuilding team with every incentive to force-feed Sexton minutes yet still relegated him to a 6th man bench role is a pretty big red flag for me. I'm no fan of Terry Rozier either, but at least he'd require nothing more than matching salary to acquire. Hard pass on giving up any sort of future draft assets for Sexton.

That feels like way too much for my blood. I do like Sexton though.
