Absolutely braindead end of game sequence. Galloway is legitimately one of the worst FT shooters in the conference, he had the ball for like four seconds, and we didn't foul him.

Similar to the end of the football run, except Gard is *trying* to fix it, unlike Chryst.

-Everybody understands how to teach a low TO% offense now. Everybody teaches 3 or layup. Everybody teaches to avoid fouls. These were the things Bo and Gard did that gave them the, “how is this team a 3 seed?” advantage every year. That edge is gone and has been basically since the early part of Gard’s tenure.

-The rule changes have made the game more and more offense-based. It’s hard for our lesser athletes to play defense now.

-We have more continuity than other programs and Gard is still a decent coach…so we take the NCAA by storm in November/December/half of January. Then other teams that have more athletic talent and room to grow due to being cobbled together by transfer/and younger players take over.

We need to adapt. He’s trying by getting more aggressive in the portal and modernizing the offense but it’s probably not enough.

Chryst got to play 70% of his games against Lovie Smith’s Illinois, Frost’s Nebraska, etc.

The spin you’ve put on this of “when Bo’s guys left” not counting 2020, etc is funny, so we can just stop there.

In the end, I’m ready to move on…so who cares.

Ehh, first two years sure. Third year he won the Orange Bowl with one loss and his 5th year he had the Rose Bowl. Clearly going downhill after that but Gard hasn't made it past the Round of 32 without Bo's guys and had the worst season in 20 years.

Much like Chryst, rarely do players get noticeably better under Gard.

The worst season in 20 years had like 3 of his starters get season-ending injuries and was a transition year from the end of the Bo Ryan era with all young guys. I think he proved that was a fluke.

Gard routinely plays one of the toughest schedules in the country, Chryst the easiest. They both were good but you can make a really good point about Gard not by being a corncob/meatball fan and only focusing on the NCAA tournament.
