All indications? I don't know about that. Seems like Hammond is unwilling to take junk back and his number is high enough that Walsh couldn't put an offer outright for him. I think the indications are very unknown and the odds are the same for his return or departure. Obviously I'm hoping a deal comes in and Hammond matches. I don't watch Hammond to trade for garbage, just to get "compensation".

I think it's pretty unrealistic and delusional to believe that Jennings is going to be traded because Ramon explodes as the Bucks' superstar next year when the team isn't even close to signing him.

Would you not rather have the option? That's the point. It is not my expectation. I want to see them together.

Ramon has shown more than a few flashes of great play. It's not like that is going to disappear as he gains experience and grows into a better athlete. It would basically be impossible for anyone to put up better numbers in the amount of time he had and under the circumstances he played.

Knock him all you want, but he's pretty good. As is Jennings. I see no problem with having them both. I think most here want everybody out of the way for Jennings, but that is a dangerous idea.

How many teams do you think Jennings will play for before he's all done?

The main indications are that we already have 3 PGs on the roster and only have $1.6 mil left under the tax. Hammond could match, but it would leave him with 4 PGs and the team salary would be in the Luxury Tax. Jennings is the future so he will not be moved. No one wants Ridnour at his salary with out enticements. I guess you could move Ukic, but supposedly we wanted him from the Raptors.

S&Ts are unlikely to work for two reasons: we would need to be offered something of value (based on the teams involved that is unlikely) and we would need to take back less than $1.6 mil in salary in the trade, which with Sessions' BYC issues and the fact that Sessions' salary is currently not counted against the team salary makes it highly unlikely.
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

Either one or A LOT (nothing in between). Everyone thinks he will bolt, but I could see some loyalty if the team is going in the right direction and we pay him well. Or he becomes a Marbury type who gets tossed around everywhere.

Talent wins games not confidence. I am sure a lot of rookies have confidence. BJ just likes to run off at the mouth that's all. Will he be all talk and no action? Playing with the big boys can kill that confidence quickly. I am not willing to say he is doomed to fail, but you do not see Chris Paul or Williams acting like BJ. Talent is the key. :D

Jennings is the future... :) So was Bogut. So was Glenn Robinson, Ray Allen, TJ Ford, etc... Let's not put the cart before the horse.

Hammond also wanted Amir Johnson.

I actually expect him to trade Redd this season, but can't until the knee shows health. So he could go over the tax. I also think Ridnour is there because Sessions isn't done yet. Once he is, Ridnour is gone. Maybe they could send him to Orlando or something.

Still, it's all guesswork on our part with the Sessions situation. There are reasons to be optimistic or pessimistic. It's up to the observer how to view it.

I have to disagree with this. We have not seen this kid play one game yet and he is the future? Lets see how he plays for the next couple of years before we label him the future. If there is a deal that is to good to be passed up you do it. :D

How many rookies are dealt during the middle of their first season?

Jennings being moved is about as unrealistic as it comes.

Agreed. It is rare.

But Drew Gooden was dealt. And he was #4 overall IIRC.

And of course we've got the infamous Potsie/Sessions for Conley/pick trade that did not go through, but that somewhat supports your point.

Agree with BucksRUS last few posts.

Hammond is not going to move his new lottery pick this year. Depending on how he develops and what he shows will determine if he gets traded. He is the only one on this years team that is untouchable. If the right package is offered anyone else on this roster is tradeable. That is only for this year.

I don't think untouchable is quite right, but it is highly unlikely. If Ramon took off, he could be used to move Redd off the books if one so chose.

But it's better to have the option and see which guy comes out on top. I'm not comfotable with assuming Jennings will be a multiple all star and resting "the future" on him. Rather have the Sessions leverage. Not to mention those two praciticing against each other every day would be great for them.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. I know he will not be traded. I was just talking about the future. :D

Sure there have been cases where lottery picks were traded, but this is Hammond and Skiles' "Hot new girlfriend" as PP has remarked. They talk about Jennings with such enthusiasm and excitement. It would need to be an unrealistic deal for them to give up on Jennings, such as Chris Paul for Jennings and Gadz. Jennings may end up dampening their enthusiasm as he plays, but they are not going to give up on him too soon. He showed more in one game of SL than JA showed all of last year.

A problem I have with BJ is what is going to happen the first time Skiles lays into him, because he made a mistake. I do not think BJ will like it. :-?

Agreed. Great point.

That is what I really like about Jennings. He actually made some superstar type plays in summer league. We haven't seen that in the past from prior draft picks like Bogut, Yi or Alexander in their summer league stints. Heck, the game recap below from 2005 probably foreshadowed something for us..... 8-)

Andrew Bogut Ejected From Summer League Game

07.19.2005 - Updated on 07.20.2005

Number one draft pick Andrew Bogut was ejected from Monday night’s game following an incident involving John Edwards of the Indiana Pacers. Edwards accidentally knocked the former Utah star down as he ran by, causing Bogut to leap to his feet and pursue him. Teammates intervened before any real altercation could develop, but both players were ejected nonetheless.

Bogut scored six points and collected four fouls in the game, while allowing his opposite number, David Harrison, to score fourteen in the first half.

Even if he isn't the future, he isn't going anywhere else any time soon mainly due to his health and contract compared to his production. After 4 year he is what he is.
