Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

Harley would make the most sense but they aren't doing very well financially. I don't know if they could sell the cost to the shareholders. NML makes buckets of money. They would definitely be in the mix if they want to be.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I would still like Wes Edens holding company Fortress to buy the rights. But, they most likely want outside money. Harley or NML would be cool. It will be kinda lame if it's WE Energies Center. But, whatever.

Maybe I'm not thinking right but why would a company like we energies need to advertise on a building? We don't get to choose who our energy company is. We either live an Amish life or we have we energies. Why would they advertise a cent?

That's true for the most part although there is the Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC.

Jesus, right in the middle of job losses? That's tone deaf.
You've got to spend money to make money and getting your name on the new arena would be a hell of a PR boost.

Unless you're fking with me and I'm not picking up on it, you get they just cut spending by rightsizing their carbon-based overhead, right?

An investors group affiliated with the Milwaukee Bucks is seeking development proposals for the Park East block that will include the Bucks' new arena parking structure.
Head of the Herd LLC's plans call for developing 40,000 square feet of commercial space on the block between W. Juneau Ave. and W. McKinley, east of N. 6th St. That block will eventually be bordered by N. 5th St. when that street is added to the Park East strip.
The basketball club plans to begin construction this summer on the arena's parking structure. The 1,250-space, six-level parking structure is to be completed by November 2017.
Head of the Herd is asking developers to submit statements of interest for commercial space on the block.
The group envisions 18,000 square feet of mixed-use space, including potential offices, on the block's west side; 10,000 square feet of retail on the south side and 11,500 square feet of additional commercial space on the north end.
The space created on the south and north sides of the block would be within the parking structure, with the space on the block's west side created within a separate building.
It would be the first of the Park East blocks controlled by Head of the Herd to be developed for additional commercial use.
The group is buying 10 acres of the Park East strip west of the Milwaukee River from Milwaukee County for $1.
Other developments in the strip will include a new Bucks practice facility, to be built west of N. 6th St. Construction is to begin by early summer, with completion by the summer of 2017.
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Icon Venue Group, represented by Marc Farha, is serving as Head of the Herd's project manager for the commercial development on the parking structure block.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

$10 million a year? There's no way they offered that much or that the Bucks turned them down if they did.
I feel like $10 million isn't even close to enough for the naming rights to a new arena. I think BMO Harris paid more than that for the naming rights to the BC.
ETA: Saw that you added "a year" to the $10m figure quoted by Stolz. Agree that's a pretty high number.

really wouldn't be shocked to see naming rights go to some international company from china, qatar, uae, etc.
nba is becoming a super global game and even a team like the bucks, who have one of the worst markets in the league have a large reach in regards to sports teams due to the popularity of the sport. don't really see a point to harley advertising (although it'd be cool). i would personally be kind of turned off to see northwestern mutual's name on one more thing in town, but they certainly can afford even a large number
the bucks under new ownership have shown they're not afraid to be trendsetters, so it'll be an interesting development to follow

FYI - Things are happening north of the arena site. Not sure exactly what they're doing, but a chain-link fence was put up on part of the block bordered by 4th, 3rd, McKinley, and Juneau. There's also a bunch of construction equipment on the block between 6th and 4th Streets.

Admirals reach deal on move to UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena
The Milwaukee Admirals likely will relocate by next season to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena from the BMO Harris Bradley Center and owner Harris Turer is expected to make good on his pledge to invest in upgrading the team’s new venue under a lease the team negotiated with the Wisconsin Center District.
The Wisconsin Center District board is scheduled to vote Wednesday morning on the lease. Neither the Admirals nor Wisconsin Center District board chairman Scott Neitzel would release details of the agreement before the meeting to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

I don't know why it's "good news." Regardless, I know where I'll be spending most of my time. Good luck with your 200 events.

Admirals hockey will be so much better back at the Arena. Much more intimate setting and the crowds will be able to get loud and rowdy there to great effect.
The bottom line was financial. When you added in all the costs of changing over from ice to basketball back to ice, they couldn't make money based on what the Admirals could afford to pay.
