Jumping from one extreme to the other ? If he played like a veteran like Hill or even Ersan I’d say he’d be liked a lot more on this board. He just doesn’t look like he cares about the outcome (which I obviously don’t believe), but that’s the way he looks to me.

kawhi gets discussed for that too. just methodical emotionless players.

but I would agree khris load manages in season now. im perfectly fine with that.

Youre not wrong, but his postseason resume wasn’t very good last season. Hopefully this is the year it comes back

all 3 of our guys **** the bed those last 4 against Toronto but they were pretty good before that. I posted khris stats in the 16 playoff games before that last 4 game stretch and they were pretty stupid good. hes been the one rock solid badass next to Giannis for two years now before those games.

and if your gonna give khris a pass for a bad series I think it would have to be with the team hes matched up with leonard and siakam and norman and anoubi on the wings for 7 games. that's like the worst matchup possible for him. that series Bledsoe and Giannis both crapped out too. it was just a bad bad bad matchup and we got outcoached and our bread and butter they outshot us too. thank god that team is no more.

I don't even know if it's lethargy anymore. Have you seen him walk after the buzzer? He hobbles like he ran a marathon the day before without prepping.

Dude is going to age rapidly as his salary balloons to $35, $38, and $40 million. Like so rapid the last dunk of his career is probably going to be sometime next season.

We desperately need a #2 scoring option out there that can consistently put in 20ish points and take some pressure off the other guys on the court.

Yeah man, we needed a literal historic god tier performance to beat the one good team we played in that stretch, at home.

I have friends off this board that said all the Bucks losses were with Midds and they're undefeated without him. Ignoring the context of who they played - now THAT is lacking nuance.

I wouldn't call Utah without Gobert a good team either. It's the NBA so wins are always great, but the schedule with Midds out was extremely easy.

more spazzy like Bledsoe and Giannis is better?

honestly guys are taught to slow down. im not sure if a guys effective......that id not rather have a guy that does his work chill then a guy who always looks like hes about to go off the rails. I mean crappy plyers id take the energy but I like the slow motion im going to do you thing too. kawhi and George play a lot that way fwiw.

simple, repeatable, methodical over and over im going to do this and then that.....im going to tell you im going to do it..... and then im going to do it again and again.

that's how khris plays. and honestly I kind of love that about him.

You love never making a hustle play for a loose ball or defensively? It’s one thing to play at your own deliberate pace offensively, but when you repeatedly get cooked because you’re lazy on defense and LITERALLY NEVER make an energy play it’s worth discussing. We have Multiple guys that make more plays on 50/50 balls in a single game then Khris did all of last season. If you can post a single YouTube clip of Khris making a big effort play diving for a ball or hustling defensively I’m right here waiting. Good luck finding that though.

The fact is that as soon as Khris got more offensive responsibility years ago his defense fell off a cliff and he stopped doing little things. He just doesn’t even try to do them. The fact that we even have to debate this aspect is absurd. If people could just be honest and admit these shortcomings we could move on. Not even going into who we could have signed instead or anything like that.

If ya think Middleton is better than either of those guys,,, and considering the contract he is on, you are dead wrong.

You could however recast the question, and ask if you'd rather have some of those second bananas versus Middleton, as it relates to this particular team. I would take Lowry quite easily over Middleton for example. That's the issue. Middleton is in that 30-40th best player range. Room for plenty of debate.

I think Midds is a better player over the course of the season but the difference between the two is Lowry's ability to be a top 10 player on different nights. Khris is Khris and even when he's on one he's never going to give you more than a great 10 minute stretch of it.

its not like I love it at all. the guys steals which generally reflect that kind of thing fell off a cliff last year but I already said I think he load manages in season. im ok with that. the guy is gonna be paul pierce from here on out. a great 2 way star up until age 27-28 and a bit of a loafer especially in the regular season from there on out. its why I think hes not the injury risk people think. i think the dudes gonna play forever

in almost 60 playoff games, he is averaging 22ppg.

Middleton is 17.9. Middleton played more MPG too.

I'll take DeRozan's body of work all day over Middleton. Shoots better from the field, passes more... just better all around and is an expiring.

He doesn’t shoot three at all. Like Ben Simmons level nothing.

two years ago we played Toronto at playoffs, Derozan had 23.5 ppg while Middleton 14.5 ppg

yes Derozan does not shoot 3s and would not suit our team, but he is a lot more accomplished than Middleton, 4 times all star, 2 all nba teams, has been the best player of a 60 win team. Why do we keep laughing about him?

still shooting .535 though. I'll take that. TS% between the two is essentially equal.

then you consider the 150M you still owe Khris and....

Spacing will be fine. It's not like this guy lives in the paint. Not at all.

It is interesting though that Demar is having the most efficient season of his career this year without shooting three and taking nearly three quarters of his shots from mid range. He has actually been crazy good mid range shooter this year but his percentages are way above normal so would imagine there’ll be some regression to the mean there.

DeRozan is in year like 9 of 10 where his team is literally better when he's not on the court.
