I'm really annoyed with it, too. I'm sick of all these goddamn eggs. And I'm only on day 3!

The eggs are the WORST. All of the bunny day stuff is hideous.I hope they do yet another update to nerf the rates further, it's barely helping. I do appreciate how quickly they're addressing things, though.

I got a good rate (I think?) on turnips this morning and sold. I bought at 98 bells and sold for 156, so I hit my goal of 50% profit. Made ~98k bells, according to the achievement I unlocked. Feeling good, but will keep tracking this week to see how wild prices get, hah.

ETA: Oh, and one of the things about the game that I HAVE googled was about bunny day. The reward you get for crafting all of the items is
Spoiler:
just more bunny day recipes, so if you don't give a **** about bunny day, don't bother. You're welcome.

One of my friends had 508 bells as his afternoon number. Just sold my 6,900 turnips for about 3,500,000.

HFS. I was thinking maybe 200 was the cap  So maybe I sold a little soon.

The high-end is around the low 600s — 605ish is the number I’ve heard as like the absolute jackpot side of things. My understanding from series veterans is that your goal is 1.) never let everything rot, sell at a loss on Saturday if you must to not walk away empty handed (50% back is better than zero) and 2.) if you are riding it out or forming a cabal with your friends that your target is to get as close to doubling as possible. Anything beyond that is gravy. So you did fine selling where you did, but you also could’ve tried to hold out for a number closer to 180ish. You just increase your risk waiting and passing a solid number is all.

Anyone playing FF VII? I never played more than a couple hours of the original and I'm pretty out on FF in general so I doubt I will. I still can't believe I finished FF XV. But I read all the spoilers and watched the last 20 minutes or so of this one. Anxious to read impressions.

Cooling the jets a bit on Animal Crossing to go back to Divinity: Original Sin 2. I’m starting to get to the point where I want things to wrap up, but I’m guessing I have at least 40 hours to go. Afraid it will start to become a slog, but not like I have much else to do right now.

I don't own a PS4. The year long FFVII exclusive has me looking into buying one.

Bumped the processor to the 1.1GHz Intel i5, bumped the RAM to 16GB, and ended up combining it with a discount via my employer to get the price to just about $1,200. Pretty rich for my blood (I'm aware of the Apple Tax), but I'm hell-bent on getting a light reliable laptop that won't slow down significantly within a year.

Any recommendations for first-time MacOS users? I had an iPhone about a decade ago and really liked it, just never went back into the Apple ecosystem.

Circling around because I like to hear myself talk: Got the MBA on Tuesday and have really loved the experience so far. MacOS is taking some getting used to, but the component pieces I'm used to on Windows are largely all there under different titles. Snappy, intuitive in its own way, and I can't stop chatting Siri's ear off (I'm aware this is an experience 12 year-olds around the world had seven years ahead of me, but I'm enjoying the one-way conversation anyhow).

Very snappy response time which I credit to the bumped up specs which will hopefully push the lifespan of the thing pretty far as long as I don't accidentally smash it to bits. Ordered a case belatedly after realizing how fragile a 2.75 pound laptop is, but overall extremely pleased with the purchase.

If you spend time using the trackpad I'd recommend BetterTouchTool. You can map custom gestures to pretty much any shortcut. As a simple example I have a three finger tap set as middle click in chrome to open links in a new tab. Really improves your efficiency without a mouse.

Might have missed the high point (158) for selling turnips yesterday AM. Only have tomorrow left...

Early FF7R impressions...

Combat: Like it a lot. It feels like a more refined version of what I remember FF15 to be. Normal feels appropriately balanced right now to be difficult but not completely overwhelming (you unlock hard when you beat normal, I guess). You can make liberal use of your abilities and spells, because you gain your ATB quickly and your MP can be restored on the field pretty easily without needing to use ethers. So, while yes you will need to hit square quite a bit for the basic attacks, it truly doesn't feel mindless - especially with the amount I'm needing to dodge, block, etc. when fighting heavy hitters. It's very active.

Narrative: Minor spoilers ahead. I'm 4 chapters in, and I feel like 3 of them were terrific. There's definitely added narrative, some of which are filler quests (though mostly combat-focused and fun) and some of which are story-focused, but it felt appropriate for me. That was until chapter 4, which felt stupid and overly, overtly cheesy. So I am hoping chapter 5 will get things back on track.

Technical: The main character models are beautiful, most of the voice acting is super solid, but the textures and voice acting for the supplemental - be it characters, side building models, etc. - are legitimately bad. One door I went through legitimately looked like it was cell-shaded. Considering the game is so large it's on two discs (one for install, one for play), I'm a little baffled that they couldn't include better textures at least.

The way I was approaching this game was that it would supplement the original experience. Relive your favorite moments, with 2020 graphics, and see more of the story (whether originally intended or later added, to me, is beside the point so long as it's good). I didn't approach it as needing to be the same thing as the original with better graphics. And I think if those are your expectations - not that it isn't a great game, but that it isn't the original - then I think you'll at least like and potentially really love what is here. I'm having a blast so far overall. But if you are expecting the original and think you'd have a tough time dealing with the original being potentially tarnished, then this probably isn't for you.

So my highest turnip price was 156 this week. Every other price was in the 40-75 range. I passed on 156, thinking I could get a better price. Had to sell at 53 today when I bought them for 100. Ouch.

It might be a couple years before you need this advice, but if you start noticing the machine getting sluggish and things taking longer than they should to get done, just create a new Admin account. Yea, you'll have to spend some time getting settings the way you like, but it'll run like a brand new machine.

I just realized I had $30 in BB rewards expiring today, so I ordered P5R to play after FF7R.
