Any non-playoff team can trade right now.

I am very worried about this offseason. I am concerned Horst will make a panic move and shake up this roster, possibly due to pressure from ownership. We have a championship roster right now and almost any trade will result in us taking a step backwards. I hope the team can see the big picture.

Evidence suggests otherwise.

There is plenty of evidence that we have a championship team when you consider that even the best teams in the league only have a 30%-40% chance of winning the championship in any given year.

Usually that's true, but not true this year.

Haven't we seen enough the last two playoffs? Not good enough for a true championship team. I still want to keep Giannis and Middleton together. Everything else can go as far as I am concerned.

Giannis to Marc: let's get unconventional about building this team, we don't have to follow someone else's steps or get Superstars

...

Yeah, let's emulate the Heat! Flavor of the week will get Giannis excited. Oh & the sky is falling really really fast right now, so fix it by ditching Middleton for DeRozan now. Bring back Brandon Jennings cause those two go way back. See what Tiny Gallon is up to.

I think we need to come around to the idea that winning in the regular season does not equal winning in the playoffs.

Larry Sanders still going against the cap, no? See if he'll be a camp body since he wants to make a comeback. Maybe he's grown up some.

Wait a minute now. Last year at this time would you have said the Heat or Celtics had Finals-level rosters? Yet one of them is headed to the Finals. The Heat were the 10th seed last year and likely would not have won 50 this year even if they played them all. We smoked the Celtics and they lost Horford for nothing. This is the new age of NBA parity. You've got to play well or you'll lose. That we didn't doesn't mean we're incapable.

There's a strong correlation. Stronger with HCA.

Hey, no one in the bubble has HCA. Not even those Florida teams!

In the eight playoff games we lost to Miami and Toronto, we had the lead in the 4th quarter/OT in six of them. We were very capable of beating both teams (until Giannis got hurt against MIA). If we can upgrade around Giannis and Middleton then great. If we're making a panic move just to shake things up, I think we're making a mistake.

If we don't make any moves this offseason, I think our current roster gives us about a 25% chance to win it all in 2021 which is about as high as I would put any other team. Most of the trade ideas in this thread would decrease our championship chances.

Middleton for DeRozan , Derrick White, Spurs 2020 1st (#11) and Spurs 2020 2nd (#41) 8-)

Then send Bledsoe for Bogdanovic (UTAH) to replace Middleton's shooting from the SF position

Swap Patty Mills with George Hill too ... we need our Aussie's Bucks Fans BACK

If we're going to shake it up, I think Derrick Favors definitely moves the needle as an FA. He gets teams wins. Why not have Oladipo, Middleton & Giannis running together? Victor should be a move to sell Giannis IMO. And a winning move too.

Zero interest in pairing Giannis with any big that can't reliably space the floor. We should know this by now.

Interesting observation, but what that tells me is that we need closers. I don't see Middleton as a postseason closer, which is why either Middleton needs to be moved for someone who is, or we need to bring in someone else (CP3) that can take on that role. I can understand why some may be hesitant to move Middleton for someone like Beal or, less ideally, McCollum. But those guys can manufacture buckets out of nothing, which is what's needed in the playoffs. Mids can't do that.

We can theoretically sign a free agent up to around $9 million per year if the front office is willing to hard-cap ourselves. At worst I think we can sign someone around $5 million while not hard-capping ourselves.

I have no idea how you could watch our offensive performance the last two playoffs and still believe this roster is a championship contender.

Keep clinging to the regular season accolades, though, if it makes you feel better.

I disagree with this but I also think we should be spending less money on the center position; not more. So I'm not really down with Favors either unless Brook is gone.

To me, if we're going to use the non-tax payer MLE, it needs to be a guard/wing.

Some potential options:
Jordan Clarkson
Alec Burks
Reggie Jackson
Joe Harris
Bryn Forbes
DJ Augustine
Langston Galloway
Svi Mykhailiuk
Trey Burke
Denzel Valentine
Jevon Carter
Shaq Harrison
Danilo Gallinari
Jerami Grant (though I tend to think he gets more than this)
Jae Crowder
Josh Jackson
Derrick Jones Jr.

I don't feel super strongly about any of the options tbh. Harris, Grant, and Gallo seem like the best choices if they'd sign for the full MLE.
