I was hoping for 2-3 years of peak Zion, playing 75+ games and dominating, before lingering along for several years, broken, but still striving. Looking less and less likely.

I didn't know he's from Milwaukee!

Went to king for a couple years before leaving to go prep.
Was a known local guy but not one of the blue chip prospects that has come out in the past 5-10 years like jalen Johnson, foster, looney, herro, stone etc… He had great development once he left and then had that crazy game winner at Michigan and his stock shot up after that.

He had probably the smoothest move I've ever seen in a HS game against Washington. Was coming down in transition, in one swift motion hit a crossover-spin move near the right elbow that froze his defender, into a baseline fadeaway over another defender. Looked totally effortless.

John Beilein happened to be at that game too.

ATLs: RIP Delly... and, perhaps, Markieff Morris' pride as a tough guy when you compare the reaction of a much bigger whack (to be fair Creek is legitimately crazy, not just putting on a show).

The boards overreaction to one of his first games a month or so ago was so far out there.

It's just the nature of the beast with young guys... by definition, people need to assess them, guess their trajectory, draft them, pay them and trade them waaaaaay before they have a chance to develop properly. So every reaction is always by definition premature.

Pretty sure by the new year Durant would have played more minutes this season than he did last season. I think how his body holds up is going to be a major factor in who comes out of the east.

My thing about Cade was not "he's bad", it was "probably hard for Detroit to feel great about taking him #1 overall". Surely easier now but it still doesn't look to me like they got the best player.

You can't predict injuries but I'd give you extremely short odds on it. Harden too, though his lack of robustness is more recent.

to be fair KD probably doesn't really practice and these 40 minutes 3 nights a week are his cardio.

Maybe he is just so smooth but it never seems like he is trying that hard. He doesn't have to power his way to the basket nor goes ball to the wall on defense. I don;'t see him hyperventilating after 5 minutes

I mean if Cade's play holds up it's at least close. Also it seems like Mobley is such a floor raiser that it would be harder to tank. Pistons will be able to add another top pick to Cade.

No he doesn't... he just collapses suddenly, like that overtime in G7 when he couldn't lift his arms to shoot properly.

He doesn't play much defense too apart from a few possessions each game so he saves energy from there too.

Rookie who is barely 20 may not be best judged by first 10 games in his career. Shocker :P
