Yeah I saw that, I still had to edit for Mike's proper recognition as a player though. :)

I'm disappointed to lose a nice young player in Leuer and to move down, but it's only 2 spots and Dalembert is still pretty good. That's the key difference between this trade and Hammond's previous trades for vets. Dalembert can still play. I still think it's the wrong direction in general but this is not a bad move in isolation, unless Leuer develops more than any of us think he will.
There really is no difference between Leuer and Dalembert. Niether of them would have an impact on our run for the 8th seed. :D

There's a reason this is the picture realgm used.

Again, boils back down to Drew **** Gooden.

Yeah, that's why I don't really want Ersan back either. It's too bad Ersan can't just have Gooden's contract and Gooden the free agent.

Bucks ranked 20th in pick and roll - roll man efficiency last season. Samuel Dalembert ranked 13th among players with 1.21 PTS/Possession

I view this trade as a savvy move. To me it feels like a foundation move that prepares the way for another move or two. Maybe something tomorrow. Maybe later this off-season. A mid-level move that may have better than mid-level consequences. Will likely help the team's fit. Good fit makes the individuals better.

I assume that there are at least 14 players the Bucks would like to have. If so, dropping 2 slots matters little.

The notions that Leuer and Ersan are core players for us would generate a generous laugh, if it wasn't so passionately argued. Leuer has positives but overall is just a member of the cast. And Ersan only looks like a middling co-star when the script, the direction, the lighting and the makeup are favorable.

Just for reference, Dalembert was +4.1 points per 100 possession last year (+1.5 offense, +2.6 defense). Defense won't be an issue for the Bucks, but they probably have the worst offensive frontcourt in the league if they don't keep Ilyasova.

This is another one of those "good in a vacuum" deals. Livingston and Brockman are dead money as far as I'm concerned. It's too bad to lose Leuer, but he is not irreplaceable. We probably can't choose between the wings we like (vintage Hammond) and figure at least one of them will still be there at 14.

But what's really fascinating to me is that Dalembert was in demand largely because most of his contract is NG'd, and it seems like we acquired him to play him. So not only do we not maximize OUR assets, we're now acquiring OTHER TEAM'S assets to squander.

Go watch Goran Drajic run the pick and roll and you will realize why it worked.

Yup. We suffer from great expectations from guys who are complimentary players at best

Dunleavy.

If Ily is gone Gooden is getting minutes for sure.

I can't see our front court rotation being
Dalembert/Sanders
Udoh/LRMAM/

With Gooden being the guy getting squeezed because none of those guys can hit consistent jumpers to save their lives. That will be our way to justify Durr getting minutes.

How does 1 year of Dalembert suddenly make this team older? This should be a positive for Sanders and Udoh as players.

Avoiding Ersan is avoiding a big $$$ contract that we simply don't need on the books right now. You'll get over not having him on the squad quick enough and won't regret not having the contract to deal with.

This feels like trading for Magloire or CV. Bucks love trading for players who look dominant against the Bucks. I am going to miss Leuer, but don't love or hate the trade. If nothing else Dalembert doesn't need the ball on offense and will play defense/rebound.

Dalembert/Gooden/Ersan/Ellis/Jennings

That is good enough to be #7 in the East and get swept outta the first round.
