Agree about Donte.

And it Ffels like panic when we're seeing posts about trading for Chris Paul, getting rid of Bledsoe and all sort of other overreactions after two games of basketball. This is the same team that was obliterating teams in the preseason. I think the only thing we can say for certain after two games is that Giannis needs to stop fouling out.
Eric Bledsoe is fair game, he plays damn good in the regular season. The problem is the playoffs. We cant afford that again.

I'm not even saying it's a bad idea, I'm saying it's a bad idea to begin talking about it after two games. If you can find me a realistic scenario in which we trade Bledsoe and improve our roster, I'm open to hearing it. But talk to me about it after more than two and a half games.
Its not because its 2 games. Its because its 2 years of playoffs.

We improve in the playoffs by not playing him.

It's painfully obvious that we need to consolidate fringe talent. We can get legit rotation players like Wes for pennies so unless we're drafting players that can compete with these, we're better off trading guys like DDV & DJ. We should be looking to either turn Middleton & assets into a legit #2 or turn Ersan + into some starter calibre 6th man between now and the deadline.

He's the only tradeable filler contract. I love Arsen.

Which player do you think DDV, Wilson, IND 2020 FRP and 2024 FRP can fetch? A player to watch for these Bucks is Jrue IMHO. The problem is that you need Hill, Ersan, Robin (all close to neutral value) and probably a third team to make it work and avoid the tax.

Bledsoe
Holiday..........Matthews...........Brown
Middleton.......Connaugton........Korver
Giannis..........Thanasis
Lopez............Bender

That would be sweet adding some vets from the buyout market.

Can't believe people are still suggesting trading Ersan.

Thinking about what motivations led to this Chris Paul report being leaked now:

"I had heard he wanted to go to Milwaukee," said Ryen Russillo on The Woj Pod. "Of course you'd want to go play with Giannis."

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/255969/Chris-Paul-Had-Interest-In-Trade-To-Bucks

Could be Chris Paul's team trying to expedite getting out of OKC. Or maybe the Bucks wanted a story out about (at least a former) superstar pushing to come to Milwaukee in the wake of that Giannis Harvard interview.

Or what do we think?

The Rockets sent two first-round picks and two first-round pick swaps to the Thunder.

Would any amount of those picks entice us if OKC wants to get off Paul's contract while they can?

It might come down to what else we could get for those draft assets since we're as win now as win now gets.

Or it's just a no and we don't go there.

I think it means that Chris Paul knows his All-NBA years are way behind him and wants out of OKC asap to latch onto a contender for his final few seasons Gary Payton-style. Not that difficult to decipher his motivations. I pray that management is smart enough to stay away from him and that contract.

RoLo isn't eligible to be traded. By the deadline, sure.

Seems very difficult to get to the salary needed to match up on Paul. Would likely get very complicatd with a 3rd team.

That's before even getting into whether you want him
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

Chris Paul is a panic move you make in January when you're swirling around .500 and there are rumors that Giannis is unsettled in Milwaukee.

The Chris Paul thing is whatever... I just don't know if that's even realistic given his contract and the impending Giannis supermax.. Also, it's well discussed how much of a dick head Paul is in the locker room. It would be a serious risk to team chemistry to bring him in.

Can we go back to Bledsoe?

We talk about our team depth all the time. We have three very usable players that don't even see the court every game. And we have a point guard who isn't an above average distributor, can't shoot, can't hit free throws reliably, isn't a good finisher around the rim, despite veteran status displays a lack of self control in heated situations. His pros? He's very strong, he can get to the rim at will on smaller defenders (but again, doesn't always finish reliably), plays excellent defense, overall very athletic, hit teammates like him.

I am not a cap or nba talent expert, but i would be shocked if we can't upgrade our starting point guard position near the deadline. We need a starting point guard who can hit the three. Plain and simple. You just can't have Giannis on the floor with another guy who they can leave wide open and feel good about it.

Look at George Hill. Does anyone really think George Hill is that good? Think about what he does well: Can hit three, can finish at the rim, is a decent passer. When he's on the floor with Giannis he looks like an above average NBA player because of fit. Imagine if we could get a younger, more talented player to start at point guard for us who can shoot, pass and finish. Outside of Giannis's obvious needed growth areas, that is what is most holding us back right now.
