I'm basically wrecked when it comes to JRPGS right now. The past year has included P5R, Trails of Cold Steel IV, and then Persona 4 Golden. Probably about a 240 hour investment across all of those and I just can't do anymore right now.

Really an incredible month for PS+ members:
FF7 Remake - doesn't impact me as I own it, but will be interested to see if this version is also eligible for the PS5 upgrade this summer. I would presume so.
Remnant From the Ashes
Farpoint
PS5 - Maquette (puzzle game, looks kinda cool)

This on top of the news that all PS+ members will get the new Oddworld game, which looks awesome, for free in April.

Loving my new setup. The Alienware m17 r4 is as nice as I imagined it would be. So fast, so pretty. Bought a little desk that has legs that slide under the couch and is exactly as wide as the Razer Goliathus extended pad I got for it. Threw some furniture gliding things on the bottom of the desk and it slides like butter to where ever I'm sitting. Just waiting on a 10port USB hub from Amazon today so I can cable manage everything to my desk via 3M clips.

Can anyone sell me on Top Shot? I want to understand the hype but man, I just don't.

Not going to sell you on it because I’m just learning and the more I learn, the more I’m feeling it’s a bit shady at this stage.

The pack drops are random and very limited, creating scarcity. You enter queue which then puts you into a random place in line to be eligible to buy a pack. Last week there was a 5,000 pack drop and there were 81,000+ people in line, I haven’t been able to buy a pack yet because I haven’t been placed in the first 5,000 people in line.

It appears there is money to be made but that relies on you to be able to actually obtain a pack. You could also buy moments in the marketplace and hope the price/demand increases but I don’t have good understanding of what makes the marketplace tick, besides the rarity of certain moments. I’ve also read that people have had issues with withdrawing money from their account which makes me concerned. They’re clearly able to take your money but people haven’t been able to get their money out.

They were supposed to have a premium pack drop yesterday but they delayed it due to “botting activity” which is worrisome. Even though they delayed this premium pack drop, they took 1,000 of these packs and handed them out for “promotional” purposes. People believe they were given to influencers and/or NBA players, and then these moments were promptly placed on the market, while the general public release was delayed. Seems kinda shady.

The delayed premium pack is now being released today at 11AM central.

How does PS+ work? I've been playing Control but haven't finished it. Do I have it in my Library now that I've downloaded it? Or do I suddenly lose access once the calendar turns?

You have it as long as you subscribe to PS+. I believe if you break subscription and re-subscribe you'll get access to your history. That said, within the month, you do have to actually 'acquire' the game. That doesn't mean you have to download it, but you have to add it to your digital library.

I am really struggling with P5S. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I am getting my ass absolutely beat by the bosses. If anyone else is playing I would be keen for some tips.

I saw some mention of Sekiro this week. I need to give that another shot at some point. I really wasn't ready for the rock/paper/scissor combat when I first played it and I bounced hard after 8 or so hours.

Maybe halfway through my Bloodborne replay and if there's one criticism I can lay at FromSoftware it's that their SoulsBorne stories are total non-sensical crap to the point of not even remotely caring to follow along with anything outside of the combat and collecting.

This is a decent basic explanation

Ahh lore, my one true gaming love.

There is something comforting about parry, mikiri, dodge in Sekiro. Could be that you just need to get the timing down and use it on every enemy. I also think Guardian Ape one of the coolest bosses ever.

In the history of PS and XBOX launches, was there ever a time when it was still almost impossible to find a system this late after launch? Sure, you can get one...if you're on the internet all day refreshing sites waiting for another small drop.

Not that I can remember. With Covid, the GPU and CPU craze it’s just extreme. I’m lucky to have a friend who literally does sit on the internet all day. Got me a PS5, 3080 and 5800X

I'm constantly getting alerts about stores having them in stock so it would appear that it's getting better but yeah, this launch was insane.

I think it took six months for a 360. That said, I think things are a lot different 15-16 years later and it feels worse now.

Any time I get some alert, I go to said site and it says "sold out". :-?

Do you follow Wario64 on Twitter? That's how I got my xb1x and ps5.

Oh whoa, dude, I think you're very wrong about From's stories. They're telling them in a fairly novel way though, with fractured info, and tons of stuff happening in the negative space. I adore it.

The PS2 was a total disaster. It felt like it took them a full year to get any consistently available stock.

Honestly, it's not as hard as most are making it out to be to get a console. Join a Telegram channel and you'll have one within a week.

There are some cool moments, but the lore is doled out in such a way that you can miss a ton and not understand what the hell is going on without guides. Did you ever play Simon's Quest? FromSoftware makes modern AAA versions of that.
