If you think about something like Midds for Hield and Haliburton, you've got those boxes checked, plus you've still got Jrue... it's tempting, at least on one side of the ball. You can imagine the looks Hield and Haliburton would get with Giannis and Jrue, and you can imagine the kind of looks Giannis would get if you didn't sag off the perimeter.

I think it's a far easier path to ring #1 just grind it out offensively with more or less the talent we have, and get better/tougher defensively. Defense is so much cheaper.

I think you get a bit too small defensively with that. That's why I'd rather have Barnes (also he's the better contract imo). But I wouldn't do any of these major deals during a season. Too much risk in terms of chemistry.

I like the idea of getting younger. Also I think that Haliburton could be a stud,

Imo, Haliburton will never become an all-star. He isn't explosive enough to beat his opponent 1-on-1, hence he cannot consistently create his own shot. The way I see it, he's the perfect low-usage, team-first ball handler. Problem is, the Kings likely view him as a future all-star. If we wanna trade for him, we probably have to accept Kings' valuation that he's a future all-star. Long story short, I believe he's overrated right now. Love his game though!

Needless to say, we don't have the assets to trade for Haliburton. Unless of course we are willing to part ways with Jrue/Middleton, but I don't think we are.

Yeah, I do love Haliburton as a player, but he's like that prime George Hill "jack of all trades, master of none" type guy that everybody falls in love with and gets fooled into thinking his potential is way higher than it actually is. No chance he replaces what either Jrue or Middleton gives you in this current title window. Any trade with Sacto that involves either of those two going out is a complete non-starter.

Philly was asking for Haliburton if they had to take Hield's contract, plus 3- 1st round picks? Why are we selling Khris for a small fraction of that in these hypothetical deals?

He's shooting over 60% on step back jumpers and has an A/TO ratio of 3. There's your master of some trait. But yeah, Haliburton's window isn't now. That said I like Barnes a lot. Not saying he's nearly as good as Middleton, but Imo he's a solid positive on his current deal and he'd help any team.

Maybe just DDV for Len or Harkless and 2 seconds or something.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Let's bring back Whiter Donte. That guy could shoot.

I feel like I can only move forward by describing every potential white guy in 'shades of Donte'. Alabaster Donte has to come into it somewhere. Ivory Donte? Cream Donte? Eggshell Donte?

Eventually one very pale baller shall earn the right to be called the whitest Donte. Send scouts to Utah.

Hield is an absolute sieve. Guys routinely blow right past him. I didn’t like the Russ trade for LA, but people really ignore how terrible Buddy is at defense. That’s a bad contract.

Sacramento is such a mess that I lay some blame on the organization. Hield should be a better defender than he is. He has a pretty good wingspan.

This is much closer to being something that would actually happen. I don't think it's enough for us but it's realistic, and I do think Len's the guy we'd be looking at.

It is, but he'd serve a purpose for us and we'd be getting one of the best passers in the league at 21. Neither side would come close to saying yes.

Simmons / Curry for Middleton / Dante
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

It'd be utter madness to trade any of Giannis, Jrue, Midds or Brook. Unless Brook's injury has turned him into a shell of himself, he should be back. You don't break up a championship core when they haven't even had a chance to defend their title yet.

The Kings have always had an interest in Donte so he's likely the one on the chopping block if we are gonna trade with the Kings.
