I'm enjoying FF despite what I think are some legit complaints, but can someone answer this simple one: why don't they ever make the protagonist Cid? Impossibly cool, great voice actor, not an annoying emo boy. THAT'S the dude I want to play as in one of these.

I haven't touched Street Fighter in a week and a half or so, unfortunately, because I must have really screwed up my wrist. It's not quite bad enough to go to the doctor, at least not yet, but it's healing really slowly. Holding a controller doesn't feel great.

Thankful - especially as an ARPG player - that I've never had wrist injuries from gaming before. But yeah it sucks.

I bought the new AEW wrestling game because I wanted to relive the old N64 No Mercy days. It's a decent 1st game by the company, but it's got a long way to go (some animations are clunky and the create a wrestler is pretty bare-bones). Mechanics are fun if you want a more arcade-like fighting style.

Playstation Plus for July 2023 has COD Cold War. I have it for XBOX. But I'll claim it for my PS5 as well.

Baldur’s Gate 3 got *moved up* to release on August 3rd instead of the 31st. PS5 version was delayed, but this is exciting to get the game sooner on PC.

I bought the early access to BG3. Freaking loved it and was playing a decent amount with friends, then I had my first child, now a second, and most of my friends are now having babies. I really want to get back into it in a year or two when I have more pockets of time.

72 hours of early access was announced a few months ago iirc

Thanks - I had no idea about that! And the announcements from today sound awesome. Dragonborn confirmed is nice. I loved playing Dragon Disciple in NWN back in the day. Though that was class instead of race, I think it made for some fun fantasy/role playing. Class even more so.

Today's update is insane. Characters, races, classes, companions, spells, feats. Totally bananas. And this Monk subclass sounds like it could be my cup of tea.

I absolutely would/will, but will be playing through solo first. Y'all would not want to deal with me playing an immersive RPG on first run through. I play so, so slow.

Sounds fun :)

I Love BG3. I picked it up ASAP, played as far as the first release would let me and then decided I had better not touch it again until the official release (other than to play with character creation a bit) because I wanted it to feel new.

As a side note: I have been developing my own high fantasy table top rpg and also strategy game in the same universe with a collaborator for a decade now.

Went to the doc today because I just wanted to know if it was something or not. I officially have RSI. So, that sucks. I didn't get a wrist guard and hopefully will not have to, but I am the extremely unproud new owner of one of these extremely discomfort-inducing jelly things. If I have to suffer looking at it so do all you.

I love FFXVI a whole lot. I've been taking it pretty slow, doing every possible side quest. At level 27, recently gained the use of Chocobos and the Hunt Board. Very much enjoying some strong synergy between some go-to abilities. I think the story's been great. Only hiccup came when I hit a particular story spot that hard crashed my PS5. Found out the fix was switching to performance mode, something I didn't realize I wasn't on. Now I like the game even more.

I was pretty busy with a release this week so wasn’t able to play, but you’re up to about the part I’m at. Very excited to get some time this weekend
