I don't get your point. Are you saying a player's career is menaingless and we should only look at the most recent 40 games?

Lavine's career is the reason posters don't want him. You can argue against that, but don't ignore his past.

The reason I am still on board (although wobbly) with keeping Khris is because I know he is a bigtime clutch player. That's because of what he did last year and before.

If I knew KM was toast, I'd be on board with trading him, but none of us know that for sure. I do know that Lavine is no Khris Middleton.

I meant the Bobby Marks stuff and the random Bulls fan tweet . Of course we can look back at his career when evaluating a potential trade.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

His point was that "news" from July isn't in line with the reality of now (probably).

I agree with the rest of your post 100%.

You can't trade KM when we've all confirmed and know he's toast, though. There's no trade market. That's not how asset management works.

I don't get the team holding him out on the abundance of caution post snowstorm, but trying his first B2B on the road like a week later. The two games bracketing the Utah game looked like he was stuck in mud out there.

I'd like to see a poll too, because it would probably show that the people who want to trade KM think he's cooked and of little value.

I doubt there's many who think he still has something left and still want to trade him for Zach Lavine.

Bucks blew them outta the water in the game that Giannis went down last year. If healthy Bucks should have the mentality, they could've been in the Finals & taken out Boston.

And that goes for '22 as well, when they almost beat them without Khris.

Well, if the "news" you're referring to is that the Bulls wanted to give him away, why isn't that relevant (unless of course it's Bobby Marks' made up story)?
I have no idea why the Bulls extended Lavine before last year, but the rumor that they wanted to get rid of him for very little, rings true to me.

His contract is not the worst in the league, but probably top 5 at least.

Let’s get wild!

Bucks in Butler, Turner, Richardson
Bucks out Midds, Brook, Bobby, Pat, 2031 FRP, 2031 SRP

Indiana in Johnson, Brook, Burks
Indiana out Turner, Nesmith, Toppin

Miami in Midds, Portis, Pat, BKN 2025 SRP, MIL 2031 SRP
Miami out Butler, Richardson, Burks

Nets in Nesmith, Toppin, MIL 2031 FRP
Nets out Johnson, 2025 SRP

That leaves about 800k for Rollins under the 2nd apron.

Lillard/Rollins/Johnson
Green/Trent/Wright
Butler/Jackson/Richardson
Giannis/Prince/Beauchamp
Turner/Smith/Livingston

As much as I don't wanna do wholesale changes, this is one I'd sign off on if Turner and Butler agree to extensions

any trade that gets us butler or lavine without giving up the first im in. id go with whichever one we could get the cheapest. to me they are a wash. their strengths, weaknesses, ages, personalities, health...upsides and downsides....they kind of balance out

middleton imo is not even a distressed asset. hes a net even salary slot at best. i think if we "put him on sale" we wouldnt get a call offering positive value in any normal situations. i just think hes the kind of guy and contract a team could talk themselves into if they were trying to unload money and rebuild like chicago with lavine.... or backed into a corner like miami with butler

this is a blessing for us its even available. thats really how we should look at it imo

im sad for khris. i hate typing this stuff

SI is “predicting” we trade Midds and the ‘31 first for Jerami Grant. Hopefully just AI slop. That would be horrific.

Someone on Fanspo came up with a 3 team deal:

GSW: Lavine
Bulls get: Portis, Middleton, 281st GSW, 31 1st MKE, Hield
MKE: Wiggins, Payton Jr.

I don't like it. Even if we get under the tax.

I know GSW likes LaVine and that's good. Ideally in something like this I wonder if we could attach Portis somewhere and get J. Smith from the Bulls to take Bobby's role.

I think the worst poster here (you decide who) is better at potential trades than any of the major media outlets.

Seems like the Bucks trade scuttlebutt has been pretty quiet today on the social channels

That means there's actually something in the works, unlike when the rumors circulate. It's the calm before the storm.

There's zero chance we are attaching that 2031 1st to swap Khris and Bobby for Wiggins and GP2. If you remove the pick entirely then it's at least a conversation.

Bulls getting two firsts and productive players for Lavine is Chicago fan fiction.

LaVine has been a better player than Wiggins his entire career.
