Could be a step down contract like Hinrich signed. You could go $4.5 (which takes away the Elson/Sharpe contract dumps to match option) down to approx. $4.1, 3.7, $3.3 with the last year Ramon's option. Or something like that. So if Ramon makes something of himself, he can opt out that last year, which wouldn't pay him much anyways.

Min doesn't have their full MLE available, they still have $3.67 mil available, so that would be their max first year amount.
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

Kahn is cornering the market

So he'll be competing with Flynn, Atkins and Brown for the role until Rubio comes over which should mean plenty of PT - a two year deal with a PO on the third year would make some sense for him from a financial perspective but if he's turned down slightly less money at NY or with us to go to Minny instead I'd be pretty disappointed with him : not that that matters of course.

All that said, I'll believe this when someone else reports it as being done, Woelful has lost all cred with me until he gets a couple right.

Good call. But that does still take us out of Elson dump range doesn't it? i.e. our $1.6 plus Elson's $1.7 only gets us to $3.3mm.

If we could dump Elson AND Sharpe we'd be golden, though.

It's pretty easy to get under the tax from where we're from. Elson and cash for a protected 2nd. Same for Sharpe and you're under.

You could still dump Sharpe on some team to clear up more salary.

Agreed, but it will cost us some $$ to do so. And we'll have to find a partner(s) to do it. If we assume this info is accurate, we will finally get that answer as to whether Hammond wants Ramon back or not.

I'm glad this will be resolved with a few weeks still left before camp. That way if Hammond matches, Ramon can start getting into shape.

[quote="GERY WOELFEL"]If that isn't enough, the Bucks are only $1.6 million under the NBA's luxury tax threshold. It's a cinch Sessions will be offered a contract at least double that amount and probably for four years.[quote]

Nonsense. The Wolves can't offer more than $3.7 millions, it's easy for the Bucks to clear enough salary to match that. The question is if they should.

No, let Sessions go. Ridnour and Ukic are clearly more deserving.

I think anybody could take Sharpe with the MSE, so, yeah, it would cost us cash, but we won't lose out on the lux tax money and we'd have Sessions instead of Sharpe and Elson. Or we could just do Elson/Ridnour for Garcia, see if anybody will give us a 1st for JA and shrug our shoulders vigorously.

$3.7 mil is more than twice $1.6 mil. :)

Meh. I only worry that Hammond didn't see a team like the Twolves coming out of left field like this.

I guess we will find out if Hammond has a trade up his sleeve to clear salary to match the offer sheet or if he just lets him go.

If the contract ramped up, it would approx something like this:

$3.7
$4.0
$4.3
$4.6

For a total of $16.6 million.

Something tells me Hammond would not match that. But I'd hope he would.

Good to see somebody woke up Enlund or Gardner.

I'd be surprised if Ramon waited this long to hold out and now he settles for 3.6M. Don't you think he was waiting for offers for much higher than that? Ramon at 3.6M would be stupid for the Bucks not to match.

Does it matter too much if it ramps up? To me, the 3.7 number is the only one that matters. Ridnour comes off the books next year, Redd the year after, Gadz the same year as Redd. Lets not get too cheap and realize that Ramon is probably worth 4 mil a year. Charlie Bell certainly isn't.
