That spin move down low by Randle is real nice.

He's done for the night now with their 30 point lead.
I saw enough tonight. He does look to me like Blake Griffin but more physical. He's going to thrive in the post in the pros. Seeing an 18 year old kid with that strength is rare.

If Randle is on the board and the Bucks are picking, we obviously have to take him (assuming Wiggins and Parker are gone), but does that mean we look to move Henson? I guess it depends on what we do with Ilyasova and Udoh this year if anything. A Randle/Sanders front court could be interesting with Henson backing up the 4/5 spot.
Wolters/Knight
Mayo
Middleton/Giannis
Randle/Henson
Sanders
That's a nice little core of youth. Still need guards though. Maybe the Bucks can be proactive for once and look to move Ilyasova for a guard like Shumpert or a point guard out there.

Henson is an intriguing player, but he's 22-23 and still has a long way to go before he is a big time player. He could still grow into a solid NBA 4/5 but he's definitely not someone who you factor into draft plans IMO. You take BPA and figure it out later.
Honestly, I'd say the same thing about Sanders if, for example, Embiid was viewed as an elite prospect and was a cut above everyone else on our board.

I think you just take Randle and let things sort themselves out at PF. Henson may be more a center anyways.

If they drafted Randle and he panned out, I would trade Ersan. Henson can play the back 4/5 role, depending on the match-ups.

If you draft Randle you do not go into the season with Ersan, Randle and Henson.

I think Ersan would 100% be gone if we drafted Randle. Even in Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum's minds that would be a no-brainer.

Totally agree. And Smart is just 19 too. I don't know how people like Exum so much when they can't even watch him play any games. Same goes for Embiid. The dude hasn't done **** so I don't get the love. If he doesn't start doing anything soon, he will plummet on draft boards. My top 5 right now is Wiggins, Parker, Randle, Smart, Gordon. If you get too fancy and look solely for upside in the top 5 you end up with the Anthony Bennett's or Hasheem Thabeets of the world more times than not. If a guy is going to be a superstar, 9 times of of ten, he is going to kick ass in college. Late bloomers that turn into stars are just too rare to gamble on IMO.

With that being said, the next 10 games are HUGE. We could win most of the games and that would destroy any possibility of tanking.

No chance I'd draft Smart over Exum in the top 5. Just because Exum has more upside doesn't mean he's a lot more risky. Bootom line, you don't get into he top 5 often and you sure as hell better not pass on any stars or superstars. The earliest I take Smart in this draft is 8.

Exum is just better than Smart. Nothing fancy about it. I wouldn't say Exum has more upside necessarily.

It hasn't sure but they don't seem to bust nearly as hard. A guy who is 19 and dominating college against good competition seems to have a floor of a decent journeyman / role player for a lot of years. A guy who is a physical specimen can just suck completely and be out of the league in no time. Let me guess, you and Luke like Embiid and Harrison and Exum in your top 6 over Smart and Gordon.

We're talking college, no I do not think a guy averaging 19 a game is a good measure of anything. I've seen just as many that put up numbers bust in the NBA as guys who have shown nothing and an NBA journeyman is just as much a bust of a nobody when you are talking top 5ish. That is the area you get a star, if you're shooting for the middle you might as well trade out.
And as for the Harrison/Embiid/Exum/Smart/Gordon, I'm not sure yet. Right now I'd have them
4. Exum (easily)
Gap
5. Embiid
6. Smart
Gap
7. Harrison
8. Gordon
I do not like Gordon at all. He's an athlete four with the mindset of a three, those don't translate well to me. He's a lot like the last "can't miss" college performer to come out of Arizona.

Embiid showed more savvy than Thabeet showed at any time in his tenure @ UConn in one game. Hands. Coordination. Athletic ability. Vision. Passing. I'd take Embiid as a 'project' 10 out of 10 over Thabeet. He had one decent season after years of the norm - the same norm he's duplicated in the NBA. It was a huge reach pick and it was indicative of drafting for a need and boom/bust potential. It is what it is. The same mistakes will be made every year in different versions.
I'm not saying Embiid will pan out. But, I think it's just as easy to say he will as it is to say he won't.
Example: I witnessed Hibbert's maturation first-hand when he was at G-Town. My brother-in-law was an assistant from his freshman year until his junior year. He literally couldn't put one foot in front of the other with a basketball in his hands when he arrived. He was a major project. But, he had the work ethic and commitment you rarely see in any student athlete. And, he worked with Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning each summer. Over time he developed more strength and agility as well as an offensive arsenal to pair with his length. He was a steal in the 2008 draft. It is what it is and you could say the same concerns people had for Thabeet people had for Roy. Yet, their trajectories are completely opposite.
It's easy to make generalizations. But, it's rare to see impeccability when judging talent. Make no mistake about it, I want a top 3 pick in this draft. I want the closest bet to a sure thing. However, that doesn't ensure anything. There was only one Michael Jordan. One Kobe Bryant. One Lebron James. One Kevin Durant. Etc. Let's just hope and pray we get another 'there's only one..." instead of the alternative.

Man, if there is a college program to stay away from it's Arizona. Talk about a legacy of 'meh'.

Its funny you used Gordon as an example. He's probably the most likely to bust of any plater projected in the top 6-7.

I don't mean to single you out, but you're acting like any player that has a great physical profile is high risk. It's a poor take. Yes, there are players that fit that category. There is little that says Exum is one of them. Smart would be a bad pick in the top 5 in this draft. You don't pass on players that can be superstars, period.
As far as my rankings, I'd go Wiggins-Parker-Randle-Exum-Harrison-Gordon-Embilid as my top 7 right now. Probably have Smart 8. No chance I'd take Smart over Exum and I'd guess most GM's would agree.
