looks like its streaming thru apple tv and says its coming to amazon fire but yeah its tough to find their costs and content for live tv on their site

Yea, so add the Apple TV to the cost as well. Tuner ($70-ish), antenna ($30), Plex Live ($4.99/month) and an Apple TV.

When I was cutting the cord I had a Mohu Leaf that worked fine since I only watched the Packers live.

With PSVue you can, but you have to stream it through the FSWI app. Your PSVue password will give you rights to stream through that app.

Thanks, between the two, what do you recommend?

We want local channels, ESPN, FS1, NFL Network, Big Ten Network and the ability to watch Brewer and Bucks games.

Anyone using DirectTV now? Charter just keeps going up and up and my girlfriend and I maybe watch 10 channels...mostly sports, the local channels and HGTV...we were thinking of doing DirectTV Now (or others) and Hulu and HBO.

Looking at Direct TV Now and how they just added CBS recently, almost 100% certain this is how we'll go.

Not sure. I've only had PSVue. Gives you all those stations with the mid tier package.

The app through roku stick is pretty basic so the channel surfing experience could be much better, but overall it's worked out really well for me.

Game Changer: Youtube TV has come to Milwaukee. There are workarounds for those not in Milwaukee on a laptop/desktop, using Chrome. Not perfect, but I'm liking what I see so far on first day of free trial--watching the Brewers Game on my laptop.

Awesome. Let us know how the DVR service works. I don't watch anything on my laptop or phone. Big screen only
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

My trial of Youtube TV ends tomorrow. I'm not renewing. It's nice, but at the end of the day it's $35/mo and it has commercials. For on-demand, they don't carry the entire back catalog of shows - only a handful or so are available depending on the network. Full disclosure, I used it almost every day I had it. But I'm fine without renewing due to already paying for Netflix and HBO Now. Other networks can be streamed from #manysources.

I can see a market for YoutubeTV, but it doesn't work for me.

I did a lot of research and tried out several antennas. I ended up doing the following and it works pretty good for $45/month.

- PlayStation Vue Core package ($45/month)
- AppleTV with Channels app ($15 app) for local channels with antenna
- Winegard FlatWave outdoor antenna ($100)
- HDHomerun Connect device ($80) to stream the antenna channels to multiple devices. It connects to your network.

I get all the sports channels even NBATV, TNT and TBS and channels my wife likes (HGTV, TLC). Plus the kids get Disney.

I chose PlayStation Vue because it has a DVR service for free. They have local channels as well, ABC, CBS and FOX.

I use the FoxSports Go app for the Brewer games and I assume the Bucks games as well.

The Channels app is nice because I get a guide with the antenna channels and works with the HDHomerun device. They have a DVR service that I haven't tried yet. It is a $8/month fee I believe.

I am pleased with my move away from Uverse.

Yup. 85 Bucks and month to month contract.

Get a good HD antenna for any local channels missing. I think Vue has CBS and fox.

YouTube TV needs better channels. Like a lot better before I would even consider paying $35 a month. The only channels I watch with any regularity other than FS Wisconsin are Nat Geo and Nat Geo Wild while occasionally watching NBCSN, ESPN, FX, FXX and BBC America.

I can't wait for true ala carte TV. Pick and pay for only the channels you want.

The DVR works. There is a feature to set preferences for your favorite teams or shows, and recordings are then automatic..

Between the DVR, local channels, and less laggy streaming than Sling, I've canceled Sling and happily pay the extra $10 per month. I mainly watch tv for sports and news.

Youtube tv also travels, whether you travel physically or by geolocation. This is a wild card that is providing additional enjoyment.

Not sure if anyone has tried Hulu live tv but it looks really promising. We have cable here and I don't pay for it so no need for me but for people trying to cut cable it's $39.99 a month which gives you access to FSN Wisconsin, big 10 network and other live channels. It also gives you the normal Hulu as well and dvr. Sounds like a good deal to me hope someone can try it out and report back.

Does anyone have any experience with DVRs like TiVo for just antenna TV? One of my friends recently ditched cable and asked me about it but since I run everything through my Nvidia Shield (Kodi, mobdroz etc...) I'm not much help. I was looking/reading but they seem very expensive and don't really want to recommend anything until I know someone has used it for awhile.

Tried it last night and recorded the Bucks game.

Quality of stream was solid, although a touch below cable quality HD.

But, the DVR bugger was it doesn't allow you to fast forward thru commercials. Deal breaker.

Tried Sling this summer during preseason. It was OK, but not a significant savings vs cable due to wanting Blue/Orange/DVR package.

Can't find anything with quality/reliability of Spectrum cable DVR service.
